Danger Den Water Cooling Solution

Check out the new Danger Den set of waterblocks custom tailered to ATI's motherboard reference design (Sapphire Halibut shown) as well as the new X1800 series waterblock.

The quality of the these pieces are astounding and they look fantastic. But this isn't all about looks, it mostly about function and Danger Den has done a fantastic job. One of the downsides of liquid cooling is that the removal of airflow over the power delivery circuits causes them to overheat. With this set of waterblocks this isn't a problem for neither the motherboard nor the graphics card since the blocks cover the power delivery circuits. The graphics card block contacts the memory chips as well and ensures they will remain cool.

According to Danger Den, availability is just around the corner for everything.

Do you know if they will produce a normal, small non-fullcover WB specifically for the new ATi GPUs? I don't like fullcover design waterblocks for GPUs. Nice setup, nonetheless.

You would think that by looking at it, but I've found that it works really good when tested with a fully overclocked CPU. No complaints here.

Not sure. You might want to shoot them an email and find out.

I prefer the full coverage one. It removes the need for any fans in the system and keeps the memory really cool.

The new ATI cards use the same mounting as the Nvidia 6x/7x do, the Maze 4 GPU line of blocks work fine. As should any block with that mounting setup.

now this is what ive been looking for.

ive been waiting for someone to make a x1800series water block that cools the memory, i hate the amount of heat these puppies produce when overclocked, or even at idle.

ive been using a TT "bigwater" to keep it cooled down with a 120 running low to move air across the ram ( i just couldnt bare to put on heat sinks in anticipation of a good water block ).

thanx for the info GS.... and anything good to say for the sapphire crossfire ? board, or even the PURE ?
im waiting on a 4000+ that will be here next week, and im thinking of getting another board .

i just dont see anone posting any user info on them

Thanks, I knew that, if you were directing this response to me. I guess I should've been more clear with my question. What I meant was if Danger Den would produce any new non-fullcover waterblocks for the new ATi GPUs.

Weight of the gpu w/c cooler is making the card lean right !! Not good

No it won't, the card is supported by the flange when setup in a case. If you notice the flange is missing from the card in these pics so it can sit on a flat surface.

These look really nice to me, perfect for a gaming rig.

The card depicted is missung the mounting bracket but when mounted in a standard case the bracket retains the card and it doesn't lean. The card leans even with the stock cooler because it's not balanced. Postive locking slots help a little but not much. It's all the bracket that holds it.

The NB heat sink is glued down, didn't want to remove it on this particular board.

However the waterblock that's covering the CPU power mosfets is the same as the NB one. They are interchangeable.
