THE NEW WORLD RECORD - AMD - Super PI 1M - AIR COOLED ???

Yesterday the temperatures in Serbia went under 0... The exact temperature was -6 C and I used this condition for overclocking my Opteron 146 0540 FPMW.
As You will see, I think I cought the new world record in super Pi (24.547 sec) with only 1.58 Volts on CPU.

-On first picture you will see how this fantastic CPU works on rendering super Pi when it needed only 1.45V on 3250 MHz. What can I say except UNBELEVEABLE...

-And now something even more then crazy! Super PI 1M on 3303MHz on only 1.52V... Enjoy

-Imagine how we were amazed, when at the end of the OC session, whe discovered that Hyper6 the main CPU fan was not even working. This was because the Smartguardian's default settings were set to not engage any fans if the temperature was below +25C. As you saw in previous photos, the temperature on CPU was +19C. Of course we imediately straighten this, and set max speed of fan only if temp goes down to 0, which lowered the CPU temperature aditional 6 degrees under. This fortified the fantastic 24.547 seconds, with 3344 MHz on our CPU, and 257 on our memory (2-2-2-5) and voltage of only 1.58V.

    Validation: http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=69840

Nevertheless, this is not all what this CPU example can do, and i expect that the real power is yet to be discovered with dry ice and temps below -25C. This DI sessionwill be as soon as posible done, and we expect all the best, and benchable clocks near 3.6 GHz...

More photos and details, on our board:

    Stay tuned for more overclocking...

    Veliki overclockerski pozdrav,
    Moso ,

I don't think so.. not amazing, nice chip, sure.

    I'll try with my 146, i bench @ 3350Mhz with +17°C during pi.

    With -5°C ambient, i'll probably broke 3370-80.

    There are better aircooled chips
In short, both AMD and NVIDIA discovered that their next-generation graphics cards are superior to each others' last-generation graphics cards.

Topic of this thread is not a max clock which was used when doing Super PI. We are talking here about AMD WR SuperPi 1M result with Air Cooling. Anyway, what good is that 6Mhz if your score in SuperPi is slower then mine ?

    What with that?

And so, there's a watercooled WR and a TEC cooled WR and a waterchilled WR and...

    Stop this mess, please...

Another WR.... gah... please stop name topics like this, one of five topics is a WR now.

-7 C isn't also extremely cold, in Poland 2 weeks ago we had temperatures of -25 C during the day

I don't understand your question? In ExtremePi section there is a thread in which you can post best SuperPi 1M result on air:

    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...ad.php?t=67058

since my result is currently the best I consider it a world record ... if you can do better, please show us your results. If you don't like it then stop visiting these threads ...

there is A thread, and it was probably a joke xD

This is a great score and congrats. But a WR in air isn't 'rly a WR. And air with -5°C ambiant isn't air IMO.

I mean, if there's an Aircooled WR, there will be a watercooled one, ect...
And so, how do you want we know which kind of cooling used for this WR or another one?

I don't say your Spi ain't good, but saying "I got a WR for this cooling" is a pity.

What next? AMD Aircooled Windows 98 Single channel WR?

The time is sweet, but there is honestly too much a categorisation

    Nope.

AMD AIRCOOLED windows98 single channel with ONE bh5 stick eating apple standing on one leg balancing computer on long stick suspended to my chin super pi old mod 1.3 edition with A64tweaker NOT installed on machine

Nah, I would rather say there would be another categories like:

AMD Athlon64 3000+ s939 Single channel (one 512 stick) Windows 98 Air Cooled WR etc.

Moso You got impressive CPU and Your time is great, but we all are really tired with all those WR's on XS.

    Agreed, second edition

That word "categorisation", I didn't know you could use it in English, but exactly what I'm thinking, and glad to see I'm not alone

A title as "24 sec sPi air cooled" would be better
