you are THE man, as I probably said you on couple occasions.
I know that you'll probably mod that p4c800-e some Abit IC-7 style, so it would be a blast if you could share us some of that too .
I know that in IC-7 guide, you mentioned some vcore stabilization mods, that asus really needs, but i don't know if they would be important with adapter combo.

p.s. i am just quessing, is it possible that you solder 3.3v line, directly to that stab mosfet?

    OMG finally!!! some ct479 mods!

can u put a nice list up of evrything needed etc?

MUST practice soldering, almost screwed up my other p4c800-e yesterday when vdimm mod went bad

Mine also does around 2.7, so a bump to 2.83 would be

One thing is for sure, you guys are going to see the MOST xtreme setup for benching if those things hipro5 has in mind take place that day.

(btw ill be sure to bring cameras and lots on SD sticks for the pics )
hope the boards will be here soon

    wtg hipro5!!!
if this is your first night in xtremesystems,
    you have to overclock.

@STEvil: He was talking about the "ultimate" mod, I'm talking about the simple ones. Seems like they're still fully worth it though.

And what about the lower left circled spot?

So from looking at the pics so far it looks on the top side of the CT479 we need 4x 1uF/6.3v ceramic capacitors and 1x 22uF/10V tantalum cap. Then on the backside, a 100uF/16V and a 47uF/16V tantalum. Just clarifying.

Thanks a lot, kickass work as usual!

found some 100uF/16v caps on my aureal vortex 2, would they be good enough? what about this ESR thing?

    Cheers

edit: found some normal 47uF/16v too on my vortex, how much would i gain from soldering the 100uF and 47uF then? (havn't got other parts and seem hard to find in uk)

on the lower left he has the fsb jumpers solderd but it looks like pins 3-2 and 6-5 ?

after looking at a dead ct-479 it looks like a easy mod apart from the 47Uf on the back very small pads to solder too easy to lift one if not carefull.

    hi lawry,

you can get the parts from www.rswww.com but some parts are qty order only i just made a list and it was £25 + vat and delivery

you could try www.maplin.co.uk or www.farnell.co.uk
i will take a look later.

i could order and then sell you the parts you need at cost. should be about £5 thats all.

No I mean 1uF/63v.....You can use one at over 16Volts though....

If you mean lower left of the front of the adapter, they "where" the jumpers for the 133MHz fsb bus

    Corect for all....(exept the 6.3Volts)

No need to worry about the ESR thing coz we only filter a bit the 12V and 12Volts with the caps, EXCEPT for the tantalum 22uF which filters the "VCore" of the Dothan....Well it's not exactly the VCore of it but let's say it like this so as not to be confused.....

holy sh.. that is awesome! is that 277 just with the "standard" mod or the
ultimate one? if standard, you'll be crowned king by myself and probably a
lot of other dothan / ct-479 users!

i've taken some pictures of one of my adaptors - missed to correct the colors
before taking the pics, so bear with a yellowish tint. hope they are good enough
for you to use. just a blank standard unmodded adapter. paint away on them

in case the direct link thing of imageshack doesnt work again (happens alot to
me)... here's the thumbs to the same pics

sky / s!p - we are oldskool, dammit.
