Hi ya guys.
Bought my new t-bred b 1700xp the other day and shoved it in my new abit nf7. Edit: got the cpu from www.overclockers.co.uk
Im air cooling with an alpha + thermal take "light" fan
I used my old RAM first (2100 generic and cheap) and got the 1700xp to 2.3ghz stable (135 x 17 @ 1.725 volt), 2.4 mostly stable (135 x 18 @ 1.8 volts)
I tried 19 x with lower fsb settings but it didnt like that clock speed at all.
After waiting a few days for my new corsair 3200LL...i swapped the RAM over and am now running at 2.5ghz stable at 49deg (under load) - tested with prime95 but with the fan on full :/ (5000 rpm 80 mm). Thats at 200 x 12.5 @ 1.825 volts
I can run it at 2.6ghz and get into windows but prime starts giving me errors.. also at this speed a have to run the cpu at 1.85 volts...and i really didnt wanna go above 1.8. (temp late 40's idle and into 50's under load)
Just thought i'd let you know how i'd got along, hope any of this helps... i'd state the stepping code but i forgot to write it down b4 smearing the bastard with artic silver 3
