I got a 55MB Winxp Install Just For Diming

yeah, I jumped my production up alot by putting 11 VMs on my main rig w/ 1.5gb of RAM. it makes me want 2 or 3 gigs, then I could put so many more VMs on it!

Sure, I'll take that challenge. InSanCen challenged me to 1 million, and he started to outproduce me and overtook me last night, so I did a clean install of XP on my main rig, added 2x256 RAM, and got 11 VMs of haltech's xp running on it. I'm waiting to see if he can bring his production up too.
I've got 4 VMs running on my laptop with 512 RAM, which is all that it can handle, so I might have to find some cheap RAM online to add to the 1.5gb I already have on my a64.

now i have a question, it seems that this OS would be valuable to alot of ppl, why is it being made DIMES only? And i understand Halteck found it out there on the net and made it avalible but does that mean that he has the right to say "DIMES ONLY" i mean i have a couple rigs that could be set up on tiny old HD's to fold for D2OL if i had this tiny install for XP.

Its possible to make your own stripped-down version of XP. I'd be surprised if some of the people on d2ol havent tried it already. Give nlite a try. (www.nliteos.com). Allows you to get rid of unnecessary windows stuff (drivers you dont need, programs, etc) and can also disable services before you install it on your comp.

this isn't suitable for D20L because D2OL actually uses CPU power. Dimes does not. So even if you install another D2OL on a VM ware your system will not output any more then before, on the contrary, its production'll drop thanks to the added load of the VMware

No, its not "DIMES ONLY", you can use the install for anything, but some stuff proabably doesn't work because windows would be so stripped down. Try it with D2OL and if it doesn't, use nlite to create a win install to your needs.

100% right. I have a mirror of this, and only the peeps that TheWildBlue thinks are dedicated to getting XS_DIMES to number 1 are getting the link & password.

And no, don't bother PM'ing me for it unless you have proven yourself at DIMES (100K+). TheWildBlue is the only one giving out that link.

Is there any chance of someone giving me a link to this install? I've just got vmware figured out and working well on my comp and im currently working with a 150mb win 2000 install. If you need some evidence of dedication check the stats page on free-dc. Im leviathon-nz
