Both programs play really nicely together as well 50% each. May have to stop F@H depending on the d2ol throughput, I'll watch both sets of stats to make sure I can contribute well to d2ol.

    Nice installer Rodzilla

    Yeah... it's a thought that counts ...
...I was just comparing in my mind for example to Angra who had at peak 64 cpus running F@H....

Maybe we should come up with a good strategy for how to split our loads? Currently I've got a mixture on F@H and D2OL. I don't want to stop F@H to run D2OL but it just goes with the old adage that you can't do everything well. Any tips on prioritizing?

If you have a dual core cpu, just install one d2ol and one F@H. That way it splits the load. If its single core, I guess you could run d2ol for 12hrs, and F@H for 12hrs, but that would get a little annoying. Maybe with a .bat file?

no, you can install F@H and D2ol anf they play nice together splitting the cpu 50/50 most of the time. I had some troubles with gridwin not using any cpu power but changing F@H config file to only run 50% cpu fixed that.
Microsoft's homepage can be found at: thesource-dot-ofallevil-dot-com - interesting, no?

Personally, I think both of those methods aren't the best way to do it. I was thinking more along the lines of what machines (CPUs) to put on what project. Personally, I think any P4 with decent amount of ram should be on F@H b/c you get QMDs which have a really good point per CPU time ratio. I've been also looking at the D2OL performance table and it seems that AMD64's and AMD XPs are really good on D2OL so I'm keeping those on D2OL. So currently, I'm putting 2 P4s on F@H, 1 AMD64 on D2OL, 1 Pentium-M on F@H, and 1 Pentium-D on D2OL (both cores).

I thought that the Pentium-D would be best on F@H, but I kinda would like to put a little more weight behind D2OL in the near term. Sound reasonable guys?

    Sounds good to me Ackbar

I have the P4 set to 50/50 F@H at the qmd time only dropped from 15minutes to 22 minutes and its turning out alot of d2ol candidates too.

    Regards

    John.

    Yup...
...me too just yesterday switched my Amds for D2OL... and P4s F@H. So like as Ackbar has done.

But in future it's all for F@H. And hopefully some more rigs.

every bit helps. we are on track to do it by xmas. when we do start moving some d20l machines to f@H we will be bringing alot of firepower. i can speak for myself in saying atleast 5 rigs will switch. when the rest of the collective switches watch out.

All the more reason for me to hold back a little and solidify my F@H standing.

Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for all your help, and that we are almost there. Our goal is christmas #1, and just saying if you have anything else in reserves, bring it out. Thanks again.

I had to move myself up in F@H, but I'll readjust in due time.

Hey I wanted to mention that despite my not throwing any of my resources to d20l, that I am still pulling for you guys. Good luck with your goal . It's nothing personal or against you guys, it's just that the d20l doesn't really fit into the umbrella of things that it is appropriate for me to use my cluster on. (work machines, policies, politics, etc).
