Is auto default to 2T Command fixed on this? The former two boards (A8N-SLI Deluxe and Premium) both revert to 2T when you set memory timing to Auto. Another question, will there be a Premium version of this board out soon or later?

X-Fi sound card sounds interesting. Makes sense to buy one if I bought a 32" LCD for this bad@$$ rig last week.
Had some fun installing the chill control on the BB modded LS yesterday lol. Then had to fine tune the unit a bit. Now I am waiting for the gfx card which sadly is still not avail anywehre. Hopefully the Egg should have it the 26th. Then I guess I will go with BFG because XFX eta is 12/15 for the EGg but BFG is 11/26
So ben is the A8N32 a keeper for you or what? What are your impressions about the mb now?
Might want to give the asus crossfire a try once its out but it is a mainstream mb and i dont think deluxe will be out much sooner than mastercard will be
grrrr, mine isn't stock at stock speeds time to memtest each stick i guess damn dfi board eats ram all day long....

But eventually I'll get the Expert to replace my ultra-d as spare and use it for benchmark purposes.
As for the X-Fi....it's the best soundcard Creative ever made, the DAC on these cards is the exact same one that Marantz use on their high end receivers, excellent sound quality, and very clean driver/console to boot. Unlike their previous SoundBlaster Live junk bloated with useless softwares and loads of memory hog drivers.

BTW, the socket is turned 90 degrees:
That sucks imho, my Freezer is not in a good position now
In regards to a Premium version, there is a Wifi version that is coming out shortly w/ a wifi chip(no pci card) on board. I can't think what else they could do to the board to make it a premium. And if one did come out, it wouldn't be a for a long time out.Originally Posted by jcniest5

Got one on order, ETA next week, my lanparty was starting to do my head in for day to day useage, can anyone confirm if the Zalman 7700 can clear the Ram slots? I'd guess so given that the xp120 can, but I'm not sure of the differences exactly.
Really looking forward to a more stable system, thanks for the excellent info you've put throughout this thread btw Ben, Asus should give you a back hander cos you've sold the board to me to a large extent!

ben805 i was wondering how you like the mushkin memory and how well it overclocks? My ocz pc-4800 elite edition tccd has all kinds of issues. I think my old dfi might have killed it, so i am looking for some new 2x1gig. My 3800x2 will do 2700 but with a 10x multiplier i need memory that will do at least ddr 540 to get me there. i don't want anymore ocz as my current set is the 4th set of platinum since march.
All_Star, what is your revision number?

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ Toledo
CORSAIR XMS 1GB
eVGA Geforce 7800GT

where is the revision number on these boards?
Might the voltage limitation have to do with Max T case? If people could post the max temperature listed for their chip perhaps we could work out if it just defaults based on that.
I'll be running reasonably good water cooling, and i'm debating getting this as I won't be putting it under phase, and 1.58 is a reasonably high voltage to run 24/7, even on water.
My dual core has a stupidly high Max T case however, at 71 degrees, so if that IS the problem, then maybe i'll be able to go much higher.

cronic....i was informed by eric from ocz , that the tccd's up to 4200/533 was ok, but the 600's wouldnt run on that board at the time of testing...maybe a bios revision will help that ....

Anybody tested the Peg-Link mode and it's (in)compatability with Coolbits and other graphics oc'ing utilities?
If not, could somebody do me a huge favor and experiment with it?
Also, what is the difference between "Normal" and "Disabled"?
Thanks IA

the 805 beta bios is no improvment with the ocz ddr600. well i'll go sit in the corner and hope for a bios that fixs it. On second thought, I think I'll buy some new mushkin redline 2 gig kit. ARE THERE ANY KNOWN ISSUES WITH IT AND THIS MB? This is what I have my eye onOriginally Posted by flashnc

Both 2GB Redline and the OCZ EB use Infineon ICs so they should perform about the same, though these sticks are very tricky to tweak...but this Asus mobo allow me to get them stable to 255 @3-3-2-8 while the Ultra-D I only got them up to 250 @3-3-2-8, these Infineon average about 250~255 and if you're lucky you might get them up to 260 3D stable, it's a different ball game to get these to work as in the past we'd always tried to get them to prime, occt and spi 32m stable but it's the other way around with these, mine passed everything else except 3D at 260 @3-3-2-8 but it's not doing me any good as I can't game at those speed, they're great at crunching numbers and scream like banshee when it comes to SPI 32M. So if you need DDR540 these sticks will not cut it.....the only two persons that could get them that high so far are Charlie and JNav89GT, I'm still playing with mine but if you want you can go to the Bandwidth section and look at Charlie's thread MUSHKIN SMOOKIIINNN. I'd posted my result and sceenies on both DFI and Asus boards.Originally Posted by cronic

I can't even use more than 1.68v when I'm running phase change....massive heatload and tax the crap out of my compressor, and then I see people complaining about this board not having enough vcore and they wanted >1.7v
