    RDX 200 winbond CH / UTT settings

    Hi,

    Got my RDX200 all setup and its been trouble free so far. Got my opteron running 2800 no problem. However, I have been trying to take my RAM settings off AUTO settings but am not have any luck.

    I know the RAM is good for 240 at 11,2,2,2 at 3.3 volts as I ran this on my Nforce 2 fine, however I just can't get it error free at any speed over 200. The settings I am using are:

    command per clock AUTO
    CAS Latency 2
    TRAS 5
    TRP 2
    TRCD 2
    TRRD 2
    TRC 8
    TRFC 24
    TRWT 1
    TWCL 1
    TREF 3120
    TWTR 1
    TWR 2
    Read preamble 5.5ns
    Async latency 7
    R/W Queue bypass 8
    Dynamic counter Enabled
    Idle Cycle Limit 256
    Bypass Max 7
    DRAM Drive strength normal
    DQS skew value 0
    VDIMM 3.3
    DRAM bank interleaving enabled
    32 byte granularity AUTO (what is this? just left it as auto)

    With all settings on AUTO, the ram is error free up to 260 mhz, but as soon as I adjust the timings it errors. Can someone reccomend some settings that will get my RAM stable? My stable auto settings are as follows according to A64 tweaker:

    The auto timings at 255 1:1 are:

    cas Latency 2.5
    trc 11
    trfc 24
    trcd 3
    trrd 2
    tras 8
    trp 3
    twr 3
    twtr 2
    trtw 4
    tref 200mhz 3.9us

    read write queue bypass 8x
    controller mode 128
    ecc mode disabled
    2t timing disabled
    bypass max 4x
    max async latency 7
    read preamble 5.0ns
    idle cycle limit 16 clks
    dynamic idle cycle counter enable

    Anyone know what might be making my RAM unstable?

    thanks

    Have you adjusted your DRAM drive strenght?

    edit: also bring your trfc into at least 16.

    No, not adjusted drive strength.

    What should it be set too for 250 - 260 mhz?

    thanks

    Im not sure, its experimental for ram ability, 1-7= weakest/strong for 2x dimms _ 8-15= strongest drive...needed to run 4x dimms. from memory 1/3/5/7 are weakest in that order for 2 x dimms, and strong for even numbers. I guess start at 3 and work your way up. gl

    ^^^ Most likely they might work, but the RDX200 might be a diffrent animal than the expert when it comes to memory.

    G-Man, what bios are you running by chance? Have you tried the latest?

    For my VX and Redline on RDX-200,

    I can do 260-270/3.42Vdimm in bios with these settings:

    cas Latency 2
    trc 7
    trfc 15
    trcd 2
    trrd 2
    tras 5
    trp 2
    twr 2
    twtr 1
    trtw 1
    tref 200mhz 3.9us

    read write queue bypass 8x
    controller mode 128
    ecc mode disabled
    2t timing disabled
    bypass max 4x
    max async latency 6ns
    read preamble 4.5ns
    idle cycle limit 16 clks
    dynamic idle cycle counter enable

    I wouldnt say that, its all trial and error, Here were the settings I used for my UTT-BH @ 250mhz aside fromt he base timings of "2-2-2-5"

    TRC = 7
    TRFC = 12
    TRRD = 3
    TWR = 3
    TWTR = 1
    TRWT = 2
    Tref = 0648
    TWCL = auto
    DRAM DRIVE strenght = Level 3
    DRAM DATA Drive (?) Strenght = Level 1
    Max Asynch Latency = 7ns
    Read Preamble = 5ns
    Idle Cycle Limit = 256clks
    R/W Bypass 16x
    Bypass max = 7x
