ATI partners ship X1800XT in America, Europe

MASSIVE numbers of X1800 XT cards are being distributed in the US and Europe as we speak. You should be able to grab some of the cards as soon as tomorrow in some stores while it will be safer to say that you will be able to grab them in Monday.

that's a little contradictory to what some stores have done: remove X1800XT listings completlty. Why would they do this if such large quantities are being distrubited " as we speak" Faud is usualy not incorrect, but this dosent make too much sense atm.

GREAT News.....too late for me though.....next week will be watercooled 512mb GTX for me.....I would definitely have one in my case if this was released in June/July though

ATI is exactly one week behind schedule but it fulfilled what it promised.
Lol....that is just lame, *Fuad pointing finger up* they fulfilled what they said!! that's BS....they didn't fullfill it....that sentence contradicts itself, because they said it would be available enmass on the 5th

I called it guys... ATi have had enough cards, they're merely trying to make every dollar they can right now by hiking up the price to $599 and keeping supplies limited... Once the king comes out, x1800xt's flood the market, since it's no longer the best having limited availability makes no sense.

Uber, I told you they had plenty.... I've watched the pc market so long that at this point I can see right thru their marketing tactics.

Dont you think it would have been better to release those cards that are on its way before the "ultra" hits and sell them for $599 ?
Im sure they would all been sold within the week that has passed.

Eh, but by doing it that way, it let them go far above $599, to $699, as availability was considered limited... It's a business move.

But if even if a store sells them at $799 that wont make Ati earn more money.

They would if they jumped up the wholesale cost of it...think about it...

Either way, they had reason to do so, so I fully understand it.

They had major expenses getting this card to market, and likely had no choice but to jump the price like that merely to make what was required. Anyone would've done it in a similiar situation.
