I have my dual core opteron 170 running on a swiftech storm + dual rad + MCP655. My opteron is @ 1.48 volts 2.8ghz. My PWMIC is 58c with 3 fans on it (120mm fan, 80mm fan, and another high rpm fan below it). Ambient is about 84F. CPU is running a high 49c idle...My case is very hot inside I assume from the PWM IC's.

Ok... In my Device manager it showed 2 Dual Opteron 170's and drivers errors beside them. It was using a "bad amd driver"... I went to update driver and it installed the automatic microsoft drivers. My temps dropped immediately to 36c from 51c without reboot! What was with this?? Could this of done any damage to the hardware?
as long as you stuck under the upper 60s I doubt anything bad happened

It wasnt stupid at the time when the PWM IC's were 62c. Since fixing the driver they are at 40.
