My Opteron 146 Is Unlocked!!!!!!!!! Wtf???

OK!! So something screwed up and now my Opteron reads as an "Dual Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 165.... only its not a dual core!

Right now its at 10.5. CPUZ says I have a Denmark core WTF? This is the same 146 CPU that everyone else got from vandi.

If I try to make any changes in the bios, I have to take the battery out of the motherboard and reset the cmos. It will only boot on CMOS defaults. I have a Lanparty SLI-DR and Ultra-D.

    Thanks for any Input!

    We've seen this one before.

Some cores have this problem, you have now lost C'n'Q and x64, but you have gained a mp unlock (or partial unlock).

You can return your CPU to AMD to get a new one.

You might not be the only one with some strange things going on. Look at this screenie from G.S Technician on the G.Skill 2GBZX DDR400 2-3-2-5 Test thread.

    "Wried" indeed.

Typo by G.S Technician, I think he meant "weird". Then again if I find out some of the Opterons are unlocked "wried" could go in the OC dictionary as meaning "unintentionally unlocked".

I was talking to him earlier, its an 0530 APMW and it did about 2.9 Ghz stable with stock volts and stock cooler. Not something to RMA.

10.5X doesn't exist. It's actually running at 10x with a memory devider and a HTT multi and the mobo is reporting crazy stuff to CPU-Z. Try 11X.
