I'm in possesion of a modded driver, but I don't know if it works as it hasn't been tested and I still don't have a second 7800 GTX. It was modded by an experienced "enhancer" who compared it to the earlier driver that worked for 6800's and then made what he believes are the necessary alterations.

I have a 4MB email and file upload limit, and the driver is 17 MB's so here it sits.

Should I order another 7800 GTX with the R580 supposedly so close to release?

Comparing SLI performance to my P5N32-SLI, the 16x/4x (and southbrigde as well) doesn't seem to impact performance too much. For those interested I have comparelinks in my sig @ 266 Mhz fsb (CPU @ 5067 Mhz), 2x 7800GTX cards @ 500/1400.

I think running SLI on 975x would be kick a** with a much higher fsb. Right now I don't feel like bothering putting the P5WD2 back in, but considering I could bench 3d @ 370+ Mhz fsb (5.2+ Gzh on the 670) with 2x 7800GTX cards in there, I'm sure it would be pretty fast in SLI

Not yet, the other GTX was suppose to be here on Friday and UPS says that they left it in front of my Porch but it's not there. I'm really angry right now

However, I did install the drivers and they work fine with the one.

From the very beginning the idea was to get into a hall of fame on i955, , even on last place. But very big problems with a power supply have not allowed it to make. In the first day we could not overclock cards more than on 500/1400. At any higher frequency all at once was switched off... Same I can tell and about the processor.
Next day Runik has rearranged all on AMD platform and has bought a new power supply. With some problems of a card it was possible to overclock up to 670/1600. Guys, I have been very surprised to that you ask the driver in the open forum. It seems to me that the given theme does not approach for public discussion for the clear reasons. The driver is received by me on conditions not distributions and full confidentiality. I do not see anything terrible in publication of results... but I recommend all to discuss all details in private messages.

ok .i understand your piont. but maybe if we pushed hard enough,invidia might just release some decent drivers to us p5wd2 owners .what are we soppused to do? haha ,we have a board that can sli , but cant get hold off the drivers i think you guys have done a piece off work

Excellent results. Also shows that the pci-e layout really isn't a problem at all. Damn I feel like putting my 670 in the P5WD2 again, I had it 3d stable at 5.2+ Ghz and 373 Mhz fsb...

As always right at the beginning there were one failures. Specially for tests I have made a power unit for 7800 and it perfectly worked some days on AMD-platform , but directly ahead of these tests we have dropped it... it has burned down.



Huge problems with +12V to 7800 have again begun at us. We tried to solve these problems about three hours on end, and all this time our phase-change system worked. In system for videocards one compressor is in a bad zone of air cooling and from long work it overheats. In it one of the reasons of such overclocking result. We did not try 81.85 driver never before and tested on 77.72 ( http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=4465260 )... though I think it was necessary to begin from 81.85. It is possible to tell that we have forgotten about processor overclocking... we also it were not engaged, and it was capable of greater:



Right at the end we have tried to improve result and it was possible, last pass of the test was simply phenomenal... 36k - 100% , but both of time the computer has hung some seconds prior to the end of the test. It was result more than 37.5 in 03Mark with 81.85...
But for today we are happy with our result
