how high can your m750 fsb go if you drop the multi and run your ram slower ?

i tested 3 chips the other weekend.

m730,m750 and a m760

m730 can do 280 fsb easy but only 2670 ghz
m750 would run at 2800 + but maxed at 250 ish on the fsb.
m760 woudl run at 280fsb + with low multi and 2800+ ghz.

i ask because there i can get a m750 for £110 new not a bad deal but not shure how that one would do on the fsb. I like to run fsb 270-280 along with my tccd @ 2.5-3-3-5 dont need any vdimm mods or to use my booster.

it boots 240 (sometimes 245 ) max with my bh-5 (ballistix @ RMA, so cant test high fsb through windows)

through windows, with bh-5, highest i've taken it is about 265 but it wasnt passing 1M because I was getting mem errors (think mobo is not so good...)

new vdrooped p4c coming tomoz, so hopefully better results..

I have #2 6800LE in 3dmark01 and Highland3r is #1 (but im chasing him down, vdrooped p4c800-e dlx coming tomoz.. so he better beware )

FWIW this 750 runs to ~ 270 w/ BH5 and probs higher with a lower multi... Can't boot over ~ 235-240 tho on any multi...

so it looks like i had one with poor fsb.
there are 2 on ebay one on auction with 2 days left and one on a buy it now for £110

i would like a m760 but it's just cash thats all and the 750 at 110 is a good price.

i do have a m780 on it's way at work for a customers laptop hope i get change to play with it for a day.
so glad we get the new laptops in with 915 chipset for 533fsb support i get to sample loads of 533 fsb cpu's.

we paid 370 + vat for it and m760's are 170 thats £200 for 0.2ghz

it would only be on air if i do take it home would hate to damage it in any way.

Aye i've only got a 730 coming since this whole Dice fun seems to be taking more cash that originally intended

Does 2.7 prime stable though so might get around 3.2ish on Dry ice or so

he posted it today special so i could get it in the morning.
i think i will fit a p4 heat spreader on it and run it on my single stage as soon as i get it. if all goes will i hope to be #1 3d2k1 with an ati 9250 i only needed 400 points with a 3.0 p4 at 4.0 so with the dothan at -40 should be no problem

6800gt 256mb but i dont stand a chance of getting number 1 with that thanks to the sli peeps who own the 6800gt in 2k1 so i though i would go for it with the 9250 i have.

what is the single card 6800gt record anu one know

once i have had some fun with that i plan to put the 6800gt in the same tweeked for 2k1 windows 2k system and see what i can do with the dothan on single stage and 6800gt on water until i get the dry ice tubes sorted then dry ice on dothan and single stage on 6800gt.

Hope you have better luck lawry i got the m750 this morning it's in this pc atm.
wont go past 2600 some times at 2610 it will be ok but most times it locks up as soon as i set the fsb in clockgen and i used 14x multi and low fsb so i know it's not fsb that the problem. my p4c droops bad it could be that i have a p4p800se droop modded and vcore modded i could try it on but i dont think it's a good one.

i could just sell it again or wait for a m750 laptop build at work and do a swap as we get the cpu's on a tray no box so now one will know shh !

mine was OEM brand new (apparently), was prolly taken from a new/newish laptop.. (this my 750)

hoping 730 will do well, so pleased with that price

yup, it'll shoot up in last 5-10 mins probably, but will still go cheap.

I might post some Pentium-M/9800PRO results soon, getting in on the Pentium-M games. I have everything except a Pentium-M . One question though, does the ASUS P4P800-SE allow multiplier changes?

266x11 2.93 was my best the p4c800 droops bad it was set to 1.6 in bios and it showed a lowest value of 1.52.



my p4p800se is droop modded but it's setup for the single stage atm.
i think i will try my bh-5 ram again looks like the tccd is my week on the p4c it isnt stable over 278 with any settings and it was hard to get the ram upto 275 with the multi of 11 this would be 3025 perhaps if the vcore was stable at 1.6 i would make it.

780 should do well, 3ghz should be easy.. hopefully 3.2
