    DDR2 fat body D9 list

    Thus far i know the Patriot XBLK has these awsome chip's on it,if i could get the help of other ddr2 users to help me build the list up,please post model and maker of the ram u have with fatty d9's on it that would be awsome.

    I have prepared a small list, but I'm not sure about some modules because I don't have some official proof for using Micron IC's, so I matched these items (**) to have in mind.
    If somebody have doubts about other modules please let us know.

    Please remember that there are various different Micron "D9" models, revisions and steppings out there at the moment. Some chips may like high voltage & tight timings, some don´t.

    It seems that the 3.7ns chips are the best overclockers with tight latencies.
    My Corsair 5400UL v1.2 sticks use MT47H64M8BT-37E (rev. A) chips and they are able to hit DDR960 speed with fairly tight 4-2-2-1 latencies. They can also take voltage up to 2.9V

    My Corsair 8000UL sticks used MT47H64M8BT-3 (rev. A) chips, and they worked just fine at DDR800 3-2-2-1 with only 2.1V. Mushkin XP6400 seem to use the identical chips, but they can´t even post with 3-2-2-8 latencies with 2.3V (according to Legitreviews). So there is quite much difference between the steppings...

    So:

    Corsair TwinX kit 1GB 5400UL v1.2 = Micron "D9" MT47H64M8BT-37E (rev. A)

    Hey The stilt,

    I got v1.2 5400ul's too, and you say they can handle up to 2.9v.
    OK, say you wanted to run 933 - 936mhz all day, every day with tight as possible timings. You know the P5WD2 mobo only goes up to 2.3 vdimm, so if I was to run them at 2.3v indefinately with 4-3-3-6(7). This would be OK without memory errors ?

    I have some buffalo pc2-6400 1gig 800mhz cl5 sticks the chips say 5qb32 d9dcl.

    I recon that only OCZ and Corsair first low latency DDR2 sticks use those BT-37E chips, since they are already discontinued (Micron products have pretty short lifespan as usuall...).

    Wintec has also used those 3.7ns chips in their AmpX 5400 sticks.
    Thou those chips were older revision (my Corsair sticks have A revision), so there is no guarantee that they will work with tight latencies.

    so fatbody means there normal ddr style chips unlike the chips i have which are the smaller square bga style. ?

    yes i have the smaller chips.

    this might help with chip identifiaction

    put the d9 code in and it tells you what speeds , sizes ect.

    I see hardly anything in this subforum relating to Intel bandwidth, nearly all AMD stuff and almost a week has gone by and no response from admins about making this a sticky for current Intel platforms.... makes you wonder who's side the "unbiased" admins are on...
