not sure hey, it was done outside to where i get the blocks made.
I have to wait till they bill them.
Laser fee setup + materials for stainless steel was what i was told??
should work out cheap over 50 of them though. thinking one hold down plate and one for back plate.

the guy was trying to convince me to chrome plate the actual blocks. i said hes crazy
that would look nice though chrome plated hold down plates.

well i pick up some new insualation today and my DFi & 3700+ cpu arrived, the insulations sits a fraction above the cpu height, so it will make an air tight seal around socket.
    trace and transfer

Those are some sweet looking hold downs kayl. lol, sif chrome plate the evap, it gets covered in tons of insulation anyway. I rang mellcott yesterday, and they couldn't do me a much better price then what was listed . Still, I might buy a few for my projects, still waiting for the guys in taiwan and china to reply to my emails about their condensors.

I dont suppose you have a fullsize layout in jpg format? I have been looking to make something like this my self but by the looks of it you have got all the socket holes allready marked out in the right place.

Silly question i know but can i use Butane instead of Propane as i got a spare bottle of it out in the shed. If butane is no good to stop oxidation i might as well go buy a bottle of propane as im sure it would be handy in the future. Just trying to safe a few pounds heh

sneil im glade you like it, it turned out very nice in the end didnt it.
icy sorry i dont have a pic on hand.. You should be really careful when using flammable gases to purge hey.

i managed to get a suction line ready for a single but i ran out of map gas damit so i could finish it and try the new hold down.

    That looks really, really nice.

How are you going to get it lined up properly? (as in, with one side not getting pulled down more than the other?)

by tension on bolts, just screw down even intervals on each

i tried a little dip in the suction line this time.
the claw hammer starts crashing at 2.9Ghz in windows.
next vocre increment up from current setting in bios runs at 1.9v
thats too much volts so looks like its all maxed out.

thanxs sharp, i guess the cpu is not that bad or that good
its only a 754 cpu early one. One day ill get a ripper of a cpu and my luck change.i really though that it was going to get to 3ghz too.
I keep getting secondhand cpus instead of new ones. First cpu was a bigger dud for sure.
Ayrtonsenna what sort of vcore voltages were ya using when overclocking your clawhammer ??
I benched this thing for a couple of hours seems to be running ok.
compressor is sitting on 63c after 5 hours now of benching and installing stuff

i have set it to 1.55 +110% in bios, that gives 1.73/4 in speedfan.
mine will superpi-32 mb,3 d mark etc but not stable enough to run occt or go-2004. saying that though , iam happy enough with it. i took it up to 1.85 volts but it still did'nt run stable over 3gig.
with my xp it sits idle @-5.c in windows--26 on vapo cc.
under load it goes to 13.c in windows- -20.5 in vapo cc.

Hey mate, should get that lil Vapo upgraded with one of Kayl's blocks and some 402a, might see some better temps

Nice Kayl, that hold down plate looks absolutely mint, and looks like the block's doing a fine job on temps too

What temp on that little single stage under load? What's the spec on your little toy anyways

I have about the same luck as you do though, most of the CPU's I've had have been pretty mediocre at best. That said, 2.9ghz isn't that bad for 754 at any rate. I think my 3400 claw saw about 2.85ghz as being it's max stable on the old Vapo, and I'm pretty sure even LN2 wouldn't have gotten it much further. 2.8ghz was about the best 24/7 speed on it though.

Hopefully in the new year I can get some new cascade gas, and stick one of those heads on it and see how it handles for me. I think the biggest draw isn't the temps, or how it handles load, or any of that junk, it's the shiney 'bling bling' of that plate that's catching my eye

Seriously though, when I find a new mobo and chip to play around with, I gotta start playing again, I've been doing too much phase and not enough banching lately

i have plans to build my own single stage. vapochill was just my "dipping my toes in the water" stage. it has served its purpose. i have learned a lot from having to repair it and regass it when i snapped the return pipe while fitting new insulation earlier this year, was a godd excuse to buy every thing i needed to do the job properly.
now iam itching to build my own, thanks to reading the posts on these forums.
you are all very knowlegable and friendly here and i like that.!!!!

    Latest batch of Blocks
The rest of the enclosures and hold down plates are still coming.
Man these things are so sexy

6 of the left are GPU 21mm heigh and 3 liquid levels.
The other 14 are CPU same as before 33mm heigh.
