Are the 2 compatable? I`ve been made a good offer on an NV-6800 and as long as the mounting pin holes line up..I`d prob go for it, even if I need to cut a bit off the block to clear any components.
Cheers,
Kenny

I believe the 7800GT, and the 6800 series, I believe the heat sinks are interchangable.. I dont think this applies to the 7800GTX.

i got the same im buying a 7800 soon and could get a cheap dangerden 6800 block this is what i found when i looked it up.
NV-68 Block- There is a change to the 7800 series cards. The height difference of the RAM to the GPU has changed by about the diameter of a human hair (0.006 inches or 0.15mm). Danger Den will make a modifed block to officially work with the 7800 series. Also, there is RAM on the backside of the card. This requires a modifed backing plate and RAM sinks.
but that lil difrence in height difrence is doable.

Well.. the 7800GT does not have any memory on the back of the video card. The card is almost the exact same thing, minus the GPU as my 6800GT. same size.. almost the same features..

wel thats the info from Dangerden.
i think their remark about the 7800 has RAM on the backside could b for an eventual 512MB version of the card.

yeah. Only the GTX has memory on the back of the card.
