some things the guys says about memory controller....translation from Japanese

BH5 RAM requires loose Read Preamble Time and TCCD doesn't work at all (is that right) not sure if i understood that bit correctly .......DFI has a lot of work to do with some bios tweaking I guess
If you see maiko's comment one up from this, he resolved B6U808 issues by changing to Bios 704-2BTA.
You can check his setting details at the first post of this thread.

He also confirmed scaling of CPU vs extra Vcore as stated before.

DFI users are so lucky to have so many Bios to check around

That one is S940. The ones being played with in this thread will fit in an Ultra-D however.

Everyone is so excited about these s939 Opterons...they look great so far. And since I don't really have a thread to post in, I'll hijack this one and show my s940 results.

With water cooling and normal room temp. This is a WPMW chip, btw

BP808 seems to work just fine for me with 6-23

and not fair crawn, that was rated for 2.8ghz to begin with
Got a fan over those memory sticks? No? Well get to it before you kill them

Can't wait to see more results from these chips. The price is definitely right.

AMD is not so popular among extreme cooling members atm as they are more into P4 or Dothan.
Probably, no drastical improvement in cold bug-- it is my guess of course.
Appreciate that you will bite the bullet and letting us know the results.
    Good luck
I only run air and just got a 144 today. They really run a lot hotter then my sd or venice. Did you have the same results? My 144 is same stepping as yours.

Where abouts can you order the 939 Opterons from in Oz? I've been keeping a bit of an eye on the usual suspects but haven't seen them yet

    hi mate

don't know if you are a member of OCAU but this is where I created a bit of a hype to get our lazy retailers to order these

    http://forums.overclockers.com.au/sh...d.php?t=409220

Looks like Pluscorp wasn't lazy http://forums.overclockers.com.au/sh...d.php?t=410995

looking very good. I did notice he needed 11c for 3.3GHz, still an insane overclock on above zero. I get about 50c with my venice at 2.45GHz so ill probably hit 2.4-2.6GHz on the opterton cause I dont have special cooling. Those cpus would be a great, cheap alternative to the fx55 and even fx57 for those with the cooling. However since they are locked upwards, I dont quite see them going as high as fx57. This is a sign to come, if the latest batch of amd cpus oc like monsters, then whats to come of socket m2? 3GHz at 40c air?
