Problems with WD Raptor 36GB and DFI-NF4

Im having problems formatting the WD Raptor, both in windows and when installing Win XP.

I have a 160GB SATAII WD, and a Raptor. Now i wanna set the Raptor as the Primary drive for the OS and stuff. But when i start formatting in the windows installation(it detects it alright) it hangs at 0%.Forever. now iv installed windows on the 160GB HD, and i still cant format the Raptor in windows. The Raptor was installed in the SATA1 port, and yes iv also tried installing only the raptor without the other HD,but still no go.
    Specs:
    DFI-NF4 Ultra
    A64 3000+
    1x160GB WD
    1x36GB WD Raptor
    1GB TCCD

    thanks in advance!

have you disabled all the raid functions in bios, are running SP2, tried booting and testing the drive with WD's diags? Also experiment with different ports and cables if you can..
