Question advice on mobo and psu for x2 oc'in....

hello guys, right im currently on the look for a gd clocking & stable mobo for my new setup which will consist of

    amd 3800+ x2
    nvidia 7800Gt / Gtx
    2x 1gb crucial tracer pc4000 ram

option 1: DFI LanParty NF4 SLI-DR - now ive heard LOADS of horror storys about the dfi nf4 boards, and tbh its kinda put me off gettin 1 as im after a stable system aswell as a gd clocking board... so are can any1 clear up the pros and cons on this board, ave dfi sorted out the issues?

option 2: Asus A8N-SLi Premium nForce4 SLi - now this is the board which im atm leanin 2wards, asus seemed to ave sorted out the clocking issues users had with the old asus sli board, and ppl ave been getting good results with the premium, altho voltage options aint anywhere near as good as the dfi, but as im pretty gd with volt moddin that wouldnt really be a problem...

option 3??: Gruper Radeon Xpress 200P - now ive been readin all the hype surroundin this chipset, and the sapphire board seems to be lookin good... so the question is should i hold out for 1 of these boards??

    ok now on2 the powersupply

these are the 2 im currently looking at:

Seasonic S12 600W Silent ATX2.0 Power Supply = £93 here in the uk

    Tagan TG580-U22 580W ATX2.01 2Force SLi Compliant Silent PSU = £76

also bear in mind that i used to own a pcp&cooling 510 SLi but it was far to loud even when the system wasnt under load so i sold it, im now after a gd stable silent psu that wnt limit my OC......

also does any1 ave any guides to modding the rails on the 2 psus ive listed...

    many thanks, shigs

I recommend the Asus A8N-E. I am stable at 2.78ghz right now. 2gig of ballistix. See sig for rest of setup. If you can vmod, vcore is probablyt he only thing u have to do o and vdimm. Otherwise this board is stable and smooth as heck.

i'm using the dfi ultra d with x2 3800+, and it works great. My bh-5 was worked up to about 275mhz without trouble, and have neither tweaked much nor tried further. Only trouble i had was with HDD trouble when i first set it up, and it was my fault and easiily rectified.

    And i'm using a tagan 480w, seems to hold up ok, x2 @ 2.7ghz and 7800gt 470/1250.

The Asus is a good board, but your limited to 1.5vcore and 2.8vdimm
In fact with the X2 your Vcore may be only 1.45v ?

Forget the horror stories you have heard about the DFI ! lol
It is hands down the best OCing mb available. Period. I've not encountered a single issue with the two that I have and have used them with atleast 8 different A64's and a dozen different memory types.

Between those two PSUs I'd go with the Seasonic S12 600W Silent ATX2.0 Power Supply.

Either would serve you fine, the Tagan has SLI support which would be nice.

And as far as rev2 coming out in Sept ? Might be worth waiting for if your not in a big hurry but it may be Oct or Nov b4 you can find one.

yeh thats a gd point tbh, i mean i ave a naked fx57 which should be with me 2moro, and i jus want a mobo 2 play around with it before i sell it and get a x2 and build my main 24/7 rig, so regardless i will be buyin a mobo within the next 2weeks, if the new dfi really is worth gettin then ill jus sell my mobo and go 4 that i suppose...

and the other psu ive listed also has sli support, and i was reading a THG summary of all the top psus and the seasonic psu came out tops they said, but ive not really seen any1 here mention it so im a lil

There is Abit mobo with 3.5Vdimm option. My friend clocked it to 330HT. IMO nice one + OTES MOSFETs cooling.
