What cpu's have the E4 and E6 core.
Got a E6 Opteron 165 now but it hates my ballistix. I heared that all new E6 cores have that problem. So i need a new cpu.
I can choose the folowing:
X2 3800+ for 305 $
X2 4200+ For 370$
A Opteron 170 for 430 $
Or a X2 4400+ For 470 $
If i take the E6 cores there is a chance that i have to swap mamory aswell. What would you guy's do ?
System Specs: -=Game PC=- | -=Lan Box=-
You're going to have to accept that your Ballistix might not like themselves either. Mine aren't as good as they were and that seems to be normal.Originally Posted by Astennu
When they fall below spec, hopefully an RMA with bring me replacements with some Rev F Micron goodness.
Thats not the case pulled out me old cpu and they did 270 mhz. Cant do that with the opteron not even 250. but one cant run 250 @ 2.6 i think its dammage but don't like RMA takes 2 months and need pc every day.Originally Posted by stone_cold_Jimi

Figured id post the cpu that preety much was the beginning for the LDBHE X2 craze.
This was when i first started researching the x2 steppings about 3 months ago
LDBHE 0539 RPMW IRC its been under phase so long but i think its the correct stepping. This was in the batch 0500 range. 1.6v 24/7 stable. this is actually an old shot. I've since tweaked the ram timings quite a bit.

Nice chew*, but 1.792v? Is that real? I'm afraid of that kind of voltage lol.
nah thats a bug on the grouper board...with cpu-z. 1.6v is the max i'm comfortable pushing into a cpu on phase for 24/7 use. This is my everyday rig. I do everything on it while running rosetta 24/7 in the background, I don't even realize its running.........those were completely untweaked video settings to....Originally Posted by stone_cold_Jimi

That's nice then. I wound the 0607 N back to 3000/1.5v, it's comfortable there with CPU at -14C (Rosetta running). 3100/1.62v was about 6C warmer, still haven't tweaked the mem some more to get rid of the random error, I'll see how these 2 WUs get on at lower speed and voltage.Originally Posted by chew*

Post results soonest. This is the second 060x that I've seen with an AW ending on the date code. It's generally MW. It's something to do with mixing batches or not, can't find the table just now. Anyone?Originally Posted by afireinside

Sorry! Single stage phase (Vapo LS). They're not as good as the 0601s, but they're good. The one I took out earlier had run Rosetta at 3100 for hours; this one looks like it will do the same (but runs at 1.47v at 3GHz, less than the 4600).Originally Posted by Absolute_0

good luck with your 3800
is it going straight under phase ?

under water right now, priming at 2.9 Ghz.
Phase in a few days, i'm going on spring break and need to move my comp back home.
2.95 fails with 1.6
2.90 fails with 1.56
2.85 fails with 1.48
Guess i really need to raise volts

Presenting LDBFE 0607SPMW "T" a.k.a. "Mr T" under phase pwning my CDBHE 4600 at 3000 MHz. It's running Rosetta 16/7 (can't leave it on overnight or I'll get an ASBO off the neighbours), so instead of SP2004, here's a more realistic shot:
Been looking through these nice 06 steppings and I've decided to hop off the Opter-craze and onto the x2. Are these good 06 stepping still available at places like Newegg or Monarch? Am I still guaranteed a great clocker, or should I buy privately?
