You'll want a heatsink in between the fan & the NB if that is what you're asking

I'm sure you'll find a way, but ya, AS3 under the NB HS will help a bit too.

How about a dab of glue from a hot glue gun??

Then it's easy to remove AND it holds off the vibrations from the fan

    That should work well.

This one is held on with Frag Tape.

HS lapped and applied with Arctic Alumina

I had the thermaltake silver Orb, didn't fit properly! wasn't making good contact with NB, This was why my system would turn itself off and siren would sound. Now modded the 40mm Fan onto the Passive HS, with super glue Running sweet so far primed the system at 10.5x190 CPU temp not going above 42, so far so good, will let u know how i get on.
Thank u all for your suggestions

I removed the stock heatsink, cleaned off the goop that was there on both the heatsink and NB itself, applied some AS3, popped the heatsink back on and just today I have attached a 45mm fan using epoxy, couldn't find anything else around so I thought what the heck :p

Without a fan temps would reach 60C when at 200FSB via the reading from a probe connected to my DigiDoc and the screen would randomly flash and eventually blue screen and reboot itself. Now though my temps are exactly half of what they were, sitting at 30C, even when under heavy stress.

Now thats more like it

I personally lapped a TT Crystal Orb, attatched it to the NB with Zip-ties (really bad idea unless you have it on good) and lapped the original and modded it to fit the southbridge.

Vdd is only limiting my dual-channel FSB ability.

My 8RDA+ arrived today, and i've taken the fan out of the COrb and stuck it onto the NB, at the mo its with bluetac, but i'm gonan frag tape or screw it on with some self tappers.

btw does the sb need any cooling?

Yea I found a really easy way to get a TT crystal Orb on the NB.

    1) Take it all apart (fan off with heatink alone.)
    2) I took my old gainward Gf2 heatink connector (u know what holds it to the PCB) and put a different hSF on that.
    3) Put the connector in the middle of the Crystal orb until both sides are equal to your MOBO
    4) Then screw the CO fan down on the piece connector and it now should fit perfectly and look PRO
It dosnt necessarily have to be a gainward connecor but thats just what i used, Im sure other GFX cards alos have this piece..Note: any gfx cards after gf3 wont work because the fan connector longated. Or is that after 4200...
