Two or Four sticks for new 2gb FX57 system

I'm in the process of getting a new box.
    The box will be a FX57 on a DFI nf4 SLI-DR.

I want 2gb of memory for this system, my question is - should i get 2x 1024 sticks or 4x 512 sticks?

As i understand it there are certain performance issues when running 4 sticks?

Also - given a choice between, Corsair, Kingston, Crucial and TwinMOS what memory should i get in your opinion for best performance on this rig. Assume i will do a bit of OCing as i probably will hook up a Vapo LS to this.

2x1G. It is as you understand. Since you're splurging on your sys, go with Crucial Ballistix. The Patriot seems to do well too if you're into budget oc'n. But it's still a hit or miss.

Hey now That may be so but our PC3700 / PC4000 2GB packs are second to none. For enthusiasts looking for high capacity / peformance, I would think its a fair statement to say we have the best there is.

Thanks for the quick replies guys!

I'm a fairly experienced OCer and tweaker of Intel systems - but new to AMD.

Unfortunatley im limited to the brands mentioned. Because of special company deals i can only get my stuff from one retailer (but i get it without any taxes - so real cheap).

Mushkin, OCZ, GSkill are all brands i would like to be able to choose from as well.

I see that they got Crucial PC4000 BallistiX Tracer 1gb modules. These prefered over the normal Ballistix modules?

I notice that the timings on these modules are so-so - i thought the deal for AMD systems was to focus on tight timings and not high bus speeds? E.g. the HyperX modules? (but then again that prolly would mean 4x512mb which is a nono).
