Maybe some of on the DFI want to use a PCI soundcard and that thing will take all the damn slots? Also it's a hastle to do the mod and that heatsink costs the same as the V-1?

X700Pro is a very low-power compared to, say a X850XT PE. In the review, the V-1 was able to cool it to 53C with two fans. That's over double the heat..temp full load of my X700P never goes over 50'C
