    Newb Question

I just bought a panasonic panaflo for my CPU cooler [Thermalright XP-90] and Im unsure in what way I want the airflow going. Lol do I want the air acting as an intake on the CPU or do I want it blowing air on it ???

Blowing at the CPU works best especially if you have a fan in the side of the case blowing in.

Thermalright says it doesn't matter which way the airflow is. If you have a hole on the side of your case for a fan or air access, it will work better with airflow onto the heatsink. If you have the fan blow out, you can get dust build up around cpu area.

Test it both ways and see which gives you better temps. In a traditional sense the fan blows air through the heatsink and towards the motherboard. Some heatsinks are the opposite and suck rather than blow. The performance will only truly show itself if you set it up and test it both ways and find which gives you cooler temps.

blowing heat away from the cpu is better... if u have side win, den the fan shd suck all the hot air out of the case. works the same if u have a rear exhaust fan at the back of yr case.

Calm down there big fella. If you noticed the smilies he was just kidding. If your machine is stable and cools to a degree that you're comfortable with, I wouldn't mess with it. Having said that, I would try blowing down on the HS. All the machines that I have given a rat's behind about cooling worked better this way. But, it is dependent on your case's airflow.

    Good Luck.

Its more effective to let heat go out rather than putting more and more of hot air inside your computer.
