    VEnice 3200+ and 3000+, which stepping is better??

    What do you think about a Venice 3200+ LBBLE APAW 0518 --> 205€ (in box)?? does it looks good???

    I have already a Winchester 3200+ CBBHD 0450 SPBW which does 260x10 1.36V and 270x10 1.48v, it doesn´t go higher.

    And i have an other option:

    Venice 3000+ LBBLE 0524 DPBW --> ~133€

    personally i would stick with the winchester, the venice with some luck will go up another 100 odd mhz stable, but i dont think its worth it for that unless u can easily afford it.

    Saying that this is XtremeSystems so i guess i should say get the venice, i would go with the 0518

    The point is, how about the mem controller, i think mine goes really well with TCCD memory (the OC results i posted are with TCCD memory). But with my new gskill i think it doesn´t go as well. I need a lot of vdimm (i know its utt-BH) but i see many posts with UTT-BH and better clocks than mine with lower vdimm.

    I dont know..

    Izarmicro and DavidHarware steppings, right? :P

    I'm trying to get the "magic" 3000 venice, a venice that at least would boot @ 2850 in windows by air. I had 2 venices, but i don't have luck :s

    Anyway, i'll shoot for another one :P

    0518 APAW seems better by steppings, but, who knows? I think it's a very lucky thing...

    I have a Winchester 0450 too, and it seems that we have the same problems with it: MemController is CRAP! It's easy to reach 2600, but very complicated to pass 2700 or something like that (in my case it's a 3000, so i'm limited to 295x9 or so... maybe less).

    I would do the "swap" if:

    1) The new processor is better than your winchester.

    2) You can sell your winchester @ good price.

    3) You don't have money problems or any other capricho xDDD

    If you can't do this, stay with your winchi.

    Que conste q yo si fuese tu pillaria el de davidhardware xDDDD

    Suerte con el micro, ya me diras cuando lo tengas si merece la pena arriesgarse o no. Si pudiese gastarme 200€, iria a por uno de esos, pero como no puedo, voy a por 3000 xDDD

    at the end of the day if you can afford it, buy the 0518 and if it doesnt o/c well sell it as near brand new and loose a couple of $ and keep ur winch, or vice versa.

    Mine is a 0450 too, but mem controller is not that crap at all (check my sig) .
    Actually Venice does better than Winnies related on max stable OC, but from what i read, respected to max FSB, they have a weaker mem controller in general.
    Anyway, sometimes is playing a random factor on their results.

    @HitMaker:

    Damn, your Winnie at 2700 looks great (mine <2630).
    I would not change my winnie at that speed for a venice and having TCCD/5 at 300 FSB.

    Tu mismo, a lo mejor tienes suerte...
    Saludos
