Windows could not boot because of a hardware config error

I built a new computer and have 2 SATA hard drives connected. I started the computer and put the disk in the drive and it went into the windows setup tool. I created a partition like instructed (it took like 2 hours) and restarted the computer. When it loaded, it said, "Windows could not boot because of a hardware configuration error." Any idea on what the problem is and how to remedy it?

On top of that I have a hard drive with windows installed on it, but how do I erase that?

    Missing SATA drivers, I'd assume.

So once I turn on my comp I should install the stuff in this order:

    *Maxtor Drivers*
    *AMD x2 4400 BIOS flash*
    *Windows XP install*

    And that should work?
