Maybe if we see enough requests in forums we can do an extremely limited run of 600Mhz at 2.5-3-3 speced parts
That's an idea... But let's give these new PC4800 sticks to folks that know what they're doing and see how they clock @ 6-3-3-2.5-1T.
Will any of the "involved ICONs" gonna do it for us, Ryan?

Where do these sticks fall in? I'm sure many people would love to take a chance on sticks that meet this criteria.

I'd like some memory that scales higher than my memory controller....

Will those of us that bought plat. rev.2 thinking and wanting tccd be able to maybe upgrade our rev.2 to these?

Why? The revision 2's were never marketed to go higher than 200 @ 2-2-2-5, you got exactly what you paid for.

    these are dual spec 2-2-2 @ 3200 and 2.5-4-4 @ 4800

We do test them above the 4800 spec

As far as the tcc5 based plat rev 2 , those are way cheaper than any tccd based product , and they perform the same as a tccd regardless

What makes this product special is not the chips , but honestly the speed grading and dual spec , we made it of tccd becuase people kept asking us to not becuase tccd is any better ( just being honest )

becuase of the testing , the only people that can take advantage of anything like this new product have DFI motherboards and Awesome CPUs and even then if they are doing well enough , they might not get a huge improvement , after all there is no diference in the chips themsleves and if you had a good pair of whichever product ,TCC5 or TCCD then they could already be as good as this new product

thats one of the reasons I ask people not to upgrade everytime we come out with a new speed grade , chances are the diference wont be enormous , if your building a new system , then go ahead and pick the stuff that seems to suit your needs , if your not and your already running 600+ at decent timings , why buy something that might only match your current performance or do slightly better

Clocking at 2.5-3-3- is not just dimm related, there a ton of factors that dictate how the dimms clock especially on the DFI.

Memory controllers are another huge factor, if you research you will notice most running 2.5-3-3- are using an FX CPU at 300fsb or higher, there are a few cheaper cpu's doing close to as wel but not that many.

I have a feeling 2.5-4-3- will be close to the norm, some may do better some may do worse, all dependant on dimm quality but most importantly boards and CPU quality.

I can't agree with your claim that *mostly* FX CPUs make TCCD fly @ 6-3-3-2.5-1T. What it takes is: good dimm, tweaking and sometimes a bit more voltage. Of all SPi32M runs I've seen, there's a lot of Winchesters, Venice and basic San Diego chips. Saying that memory will only clock very high on an *fraction* of CPUs is not right.

This is excellent news, any chance that this tccd will play nice with intel's i875p chipset becuase ive heard that older tccd doesnt like this chipset at all for some reason and i would love some tccd for myself.

I have found that the board is the limiting factor in most cases, even with my new P5WD2's

One cannot break 365FSB 1:1 and the other can do 420FSB 1:1 with the same ram. I have seen this trend for a few years now with all the different motherboards I have tested. Not all motherboards are the same and may in fact hold memory back.

Sure volts help push the ram but if the board is incapable then no matter what volts you give it, it wont go.

    @Fugger,

Yep, you're totally right there... That's why most recent DIMMs (recommended for AMD) have the "DFI NF4 required" warning. But If you test on the same board... That's different story

so wait, you have reached 365 fsb on i875p? If so this is plenty for me i only need around 300mhz and maybe less depending on when this EO prescott tops out.I might have to get me some tccd very soon if this is right.

I can verify that my 440 TCCD LOVES i875P

I am with fugger and tony , board and CPU play an important part , we a have some percentage of DFI motherboards in our labs we have to mark as bad becuase they wont hit the PC-5000 test spec , same goes for CPU's some just dont do the speeds . others do

for motherboards we have some from even the same lot that vary on the max speed they hit ,

    Its the nature of overclocking

the percentages vary based on core type and motherboard brand , but they all play big roles .

TCCD /TCC5 of all week codes play well with the 875 , just dont expect 600MHz on the 875 , those are out of this world speeds for the 875 chipset

and fugger is talking about ddr 2

It has a lot to do witht he memory controller and the board quality, I have multiple CPU's and 6 DFI NF4 boards here, they all act and clock differently. One board will run a set of dimms at 2.5-3-3- at 600, the other 5 will not. The CPu's here are all a little different also, around 600 they are all pretty much the same but all allow a different max memory clock when used with the same dimms on the same board.

The best CPU i had was an FX, it ran ddr600 with utter ease and was miles more user friendly, i also have researched many forum threads to see what other users are getting and again FX for outright ram overclocking is the way to go...X2 is pretty close also

One other note here is that I have boards with both Vdimm and VTT mods, i don't use these for massive overvolting, i use them for fine tuning and the Vdimm mod seems to have made a big difference on the 2 boards i have it fitted to, infact the A00 stepping board is pretty damn awseome now with the mod and medium to poor with it off. I have hit consistant ddr600+ with 2.65 to 2.68Vdimm with dimms that are all customer RMA modules, without the mod in place im needing 2.8V+ with many of these module not hitting 600 prime stable.

as you see there is more to running 600+ than meets the eye here.

Just out of curiosity, what do you do with the 'bad' boards/cpus?

    @Tony,

I don't want to go any deeper on that so I just leave it as it is

Anyway, I just hope that those "ICONs" that Ryan was talking about are gonna show us some DDR600ish 6-3-3-2.5-1T because we all know that DDR600ish 7-3-4-2.5-1T is pretty easy to achieve on any CPU with DFI NF4, nowadays. Prime95 stable, I mean

Good luck with your new release

Any chance these or something similar will be available in 1Gig sticks or 2x1Gig pairs?

Nah, the price of 256mb dropping to $5.26 had nothing to with it either...

but yeah, you guys are some of the best buys for high quality ram local, but c'mon, you can't take all the credit. If anyone, it would be Infineon for dumping that mem they have been saivng from all the way back to Sept 2002...
