Here's some 2x1GB Ballistix Z503 @ 285, frankly they are a hair more impressive at 280 and below. Down at those speeds trfc can stay at 14 and twr, twtr, and trtw will stay at 2-1-2 and max asynch 7 ns. I'm sure these would do more for me if I wanted to run more than 2.78V through them, but knock on wood, these have gone a month with those volts and I just don't want to give them more due to all the failures.

Finally had a chance to test out the replacement Ballistix. I set tCL, tRCD, tRAS, tRP, tRC, tRFC in bios and left the rest set at AUTO. I'm running Bios 623 on my DFI SLI-DR. I haven't finished modding my case, so I'm still running stock air cooling for now. I started the tests then left to grab some food, so not sure what the max-temps were. I'll try running 2 instances (1 per core) of SuperPI next. In the meantime, how does this look?

Alright, last run for the night... Bumped up the voltage in bios to 2.9V with +0.03v enabled, reads 2.94V in WinXP, just for this last benchmark run. Had to tweak some of the memory settings in windows to get SuperPI to finish. Any suggestions on how to get this to 305Mhz?

Alright, first and only run for the afternoon... Bumped up the voltage in bios to 2.9V with +0.03v enabled, reads 2.94V in WinXP, just for this last benchmark run. All the memory options set in BIOS except for tREF which is set to auto and Read PreAmble set to Auto, but manually set within WinXP with A64 Tweaker.

Only had time to do a quick run at the higher fsb before the holiday. I wont have time to try pushing higher until after this weekend. I suspect I may still have some headroom left, considering this is the first I tweaked the tREF setting. This CPU's memory controller is amazing for an X2!

Nice Brit. Have you tried higher volts?
Im looking to get 2x1GB set of ram and have read that the Crucial Balistic can hit 300Mhz.
Does it mate which of these i get as one set are black the other yellow.

full stable (32m, 3d, s&m, prime, memtest) at 272 3-4-4-8 1T and 2.83v (most don't need over 2.60v to reach the limits, but -don't know why- extra vmem here helps a lot!), and maybe it is the cpu (winchester core, D0 stepping), or (and) the passively cooled chipset which gets really hot... that don't allow higher clocks with 1T - will check it out soon

Some results from the new sticks ... you wont believe it, but the first two acutally died.
One of these days im going to drop down to 10x multi and run the tests again. I suspect the CPU is stopping me @ 270*11 as its on silent air cooling.

I've actually had them higher in benches but don't have the screenshots handy. To my recollection they did 285! But proof is the pudding. I'll get some screenies for that
