Hey guys, what about the Patriot 1Gb sticks? These are rated at 2-3-2-5 at 2.5 volts DDR400. Has anyone tried these? They look promising ...
That's looks encouraging
Guys don't mean to be a bother, but could someone explain to me or link me on how mem timing works and how do I figured out what clocks to change to get stability? I'm new to the board so I'll look around to see if I can find a guide to that. Can't wait to get my RAM, that should complete my build, thanks for all the help btw.

I'll wait until you get your max at 2.5/3-2-2

Thanks, just finally am about to get this thing flashed to 704-3....had to find a floppy drive cos my CD-ROM drive is weird. Will be very interested with nugzo's tests with -1 and -2...we've all just assumed -3 is the best but we really don't know.
Anyway, I should have some more info soonish....can't promise anything though.
EDIT: Update #1....my Ballistix hate voltage. Won't even boot into Windows at >2.8V at optimized defaults.

Wow! Never woulda guessed that one (not sure why...but I never woulda guessed it, I swear ). Anyway, what about 704-1? How is it better?Originally Posted by nugzo
Update #2 for me....seems that 704-3 is most definitely performing worse than 623-3. Can't get anywhere above 255 with 3-4-4-8, let alone ANYTHING tighter at any other speed. I also have this startling hunch that my Ballistix are getting worse....will play more and update as news comes in.
Update #3....seems that my Windows has gone down the toilet...memtest seems much better on 704-3.
Update #4....just kidding about it being better in memtest...wtf is going on? Anyway, RMAing them because they won't run 250 3-4-4-8 at any voltage any longer. Bummer.

I'm using the Transcend 1GB Samsung UCCC sticks in my gaming rig. You can read about about them in my thread here.
Per this thread's rules, here is a link to the CPU-Z validation showing them topping out at around 225.
Nothing spectaucular but at $90 a pop, a pretty decent deal for someone looking to have 2gigs for some games.
Sourcing parts for a mildly over clocked abacus.

Well, Im flabbergasted, and add to that confused now. Those should be using the same 2-3-2-6 stuff that patriot and I think also OCZ has a line of(diff timings but same stuff) and they by their nature Max at 225 to 230. In the reviews, the forums, everywhere you get 20MHz more than most when just 20MHz is almost the average OC. Oh well, lucky bastage!Originally Posted by rise4310
i'm stunned myself. i only saw one review that managed 240ish with 3-4-4-8. i was figuring i might need a divider. i dunno what the hell this stuff is. i know its infineon which like you said, ocz uses for one, with similar poor reviews. i wasn't expecting anything like this.
it went to 225 with 2-3-2-7, 2.8v and then i loosened them. either tankguys got their hands on an icredible batch or mushkin is binning these things "right" or i'm just a lucky sob. all i know is i'm psyched
i'll try 275x10 at some point and see how it responds.

this is right what i would like to konw....how far you can go with FSB 1:1 just relaxing timings (with cas 3 I mean, or cas 2,5-4-4-10). And also if this is prime or memtest stable.Originally Posted by rise4310

this is awsome resoult for a so chip RAM...can you run them in T1?Originally Posted by gundamit

Thanks a lot
i'll try it later, i may not be able to until this weekend though.Originally Posted by giorgioprimo
