The rev D's are the High Dens about 1.5 years ago and now have higher dens chips used for dimm for servers like 4 gig dimms.

Any info on this Corsair Value 1 gig dimm?
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145505
Its only $85 and it has Micron TSOP chips on it but cant tell what Rev it is.

EDIT The second pic has different TSOP chips on it. Strange, so what chips do the dimms come with?

Here is another 1 gig dimm with micron chips on it.

I dont think the Corsair Value Select overclocks very well. Last i heard Corsair uses several different kinds of chips on them and their not really even tested. Thats why they dont even post the timings for them outside of CAS 3. There is no telling what you might get.

I'd get the Crucial PC3200 Value myself. Its only $105 a stick and uses the same -5B D chips as the 1GB Ballistix sticks.

I've got 2x1GB sticks of Crucial Value. One managed 255Mhz at 3-3-3-8 and 2.8V while the other pulled 250Mhz at 3.0V. Combined I got them to 238Mhz at 3-4-3-8. My best timings were 2-2-2-6 @ 170Mhz and 2.5-3-2-8 at 200Mhz. I'll post some screenies later.

Comment: The voltages on the sticks were incredibly odd. Untill the very top of the overclock, both sticks refused to take anything but the stock 2.6V. At the end they sucked up the little extra juice to get to their max. Even more interesting, when both sticks were running together, at no point did adding more voltage beyond stock help them, it only caused more instability. There's 2 80mm fans directly on the sticks as well, and there running without a case, so heat is not the issue.

    Chips are -5B D.

Hell, untill I raised teh tRCD from 3 to 4, I couldn't even get both sticks to overclock to 205Mhz together. Which was very odd. Raising that up gave me a ton of headroom, relativly atleast. 238 is the absolute best I could do, without going over 3.0V or tweaking the secondary timings. I doubt over 3.0V would have done anything, because it showed a steady trend of rejecting anything a bit over 2.6V

Kind of upset since both sticks did over 250 on their own, but after spending hours not getting a 5Mhz overclock... what I got was good enough.

My Ballistix are the exact same way with voltage...it sucks when I have a 120mm and a 90mm fan right on them pushing a combined 100cfm and it doesn't do jack. I don't think I've hit the end of my Ballistix though so maybe they'll take the extra voltage if I push hard enough.

EnJoY has my results and will add them whenever he gets on I'm sure.

I also notion for this to get stickied.

2x 1GB Ballistix, wont even do stock 250 at 3-4-4-8 without active cooling, with active cooling they do 255 stable and thats all she will do. Only had mine a week, gonna wait 2 weeks then RMA them for a refund and buy the new OCZ DDR 500 sticks that are coming out (Hopefully within a couple weeks). If anything, least they have better timings.

Anyone who has complete results, even if they aren't good results, should pm them to me so that I can post them. Verified CPU-Z links are a must.

I did load optimized defaults and only changed it to 8x, 263, 3-3-3-8....I've had zero time to tweak because I've only been able to use that system in 30 minute chunks and my windows has already crapped out from my first 2hrs of benching.

I've had my memory for less than a week and haven't burned in at all (I haven't so much as tried anything tighter than 3-3-3-8 above 250 either [all worked well below 250 at 2.5-3-3-8, IIRC]).

As I said above, I'll have some better stuff this weekend, unless I've already hit the max (doubtful).

Hey Enjoy...can we have more than one entry? I'm thinking one for high HTT and one for low latency....or should we just report whichever we think is best?

So is the jump to 2gb worth it for gaming?

    I could either get some
    Redline 4000
    or 2gb cheapy ram
