Thanks Guys!
Thanks Guys!
well, just so that people can see, at 270mhz and 3.2v, these settings are memtest stable.. i think my clawhammer's memory controller is what's preventing me from even booting at this point. try 2T, but it's still unstable in windows, and i couldn't save a good cpu-z validation file
Got a fan over those memory sticks? No? Well get to it before you kill them

My KHX PC2700 1GB sticks gained a LOT of stability going from Winchester -> Venice. Like 20-25 MHz same volts, same timings, same settings. Impressive

It's about banks, not about amount of RAM.im not sure a nforce 2 mem controller can handle that much ram but hey maybe it can

How many banks can the NF2 support. A buddy of mine just ordered 2x1GB Ballistix for his NF2, I suppose we shall see results for that soon.
On a side note, I still need super pi 32m screens for some db members.

If you download the nvidia nforce2 specifications here http://www.nvidia.com/object/LO_20030610_5504.html it states that it supports 3gb of DDR 400 memory. Most nforce2 that im aware of (if not all) have 3 memory slots. So the nforce2 supports 1gb x 3.Originally Posted by EnJoY
Edit: Reading over some more on that spec sheet. Look at the second page. It states this
- Supports 64MB, 128MB, 256MB,
512MB, and 1.0GB modules
• Support for up to 3.0GB Memory

Gigabyte made an NF2 board that had 4 slots for memory.

Mine came in also today. Just messing around with them on my neo2. So my mem options are kinda... lacking. I can around with memtest for benches. I'm gonna get onto ocing these guys for a few hours and find out what they can do.Originally Posted by Major

Btw, nugzo, any further results with your stuff at that lower voltage? You're still number 1.

I'm trying to memtest these now at 250mhz. 8-3-3-3. I've been messing with the A64 options in memtest and I keep getting a couple thousand (about 2000 errors) errors at 99% on test 5. No matter what I tweak in memtest I cannot get rid of the errors. I just fired up 250mhz right off the bat considering that they should run it without a problem obviously... I've tried with anywhere between 2.6 and 2.85v.
Anyone got a clue? This is on my Neo2. I'm thinking that I MIGHT try my new DFI nF4 ... but I'm hesitant because I would have to be using a crappy PCI card until my 7800gtx comes in a few days.

That's what I was just gonna do. I don't get why I'm getting a couple thousand errors right at the end of test 5. I toyed with just about all the setting in memtest. I think this beta MSI Neo2 bios can't help too much.Originally Posted by nugzo

I have a question for the other NF4 people in here
My DFI NF4 SLI-DR is being a little b*tch with running 2x1gb of Crucial Tracer PC4000 ram.
It will boot once with both sticks installed but hangs right after the post beep when I restart the comp... I read up at dfi-street that to get dual channel running right I have to manually set my timings... (which I did) and I'm still not getting dual channel to get past posting. Also, i cannot get into the bios when I have two sticks installed...
Got a clue?
