I guess i came across as being a bit unhappy

Really though, it's certainly better than the Corsair VS i had before, so although it didn't seem like it, i am happier.

I don't RMA stuff for no reason, so i certainly wouldn't do that with this RAM.

I just like to complain, since my timing was really bad.
If i'd been smart & ordered a bit sooner, i'd have the old stuff which OCed so well

Way to be a sport n7....let's hope others will see the error of their ways now...these forums really do impact what sales Mushkin gets and these complaints are rediculous and are unnecessarily and unjustifiably giving Mushkin a bad name.

Guys, I spoke to Mushkin, it's all the BE-5 from the last batch that's OCing this way, all brands that carry it are having the same overclocking issues(Patriot, OCZ). If you're unsatisfied, trying contacting Mushkin, they may be able to help.

Re: Ballistix 1Gb modules. I just bought some of these, and I'm very impressed! I can't OClock this system much, as the board is rubbish, but I bought them for my new upgrade that I'll be building in a month or two. However... just thought I'd shed some light on how these things work at slower speeds. You're probably not interested in putting this on the database, as that's essentially an overclocking database, but one thing I like about this RAM is the fact that it runs at very tight timings (for 1Gb modules) at lower bus speeds also... making it a great general choice of RAM no matter what you want to do with it.

    It's currently running at 220MHz @ 2.5-2-2-5 with only 2.6V

And my question was answered in this very thread, and I did not cross post.
Yea, ease up. I was just saying that cross posting is craptacular. Taking it personally does not answer your question.
And by the way, I have found 704-2 and 704-1 to be equally good for this ram.

Ok, thanks. That was what I was hoping to hear.

Btw, sorry for cross posting, I just was unsure whether my question would be answered in either thread, so I tried to double my chances. And yes, tbh I must say I took it personal, even though that might not have been your intention.

Edit: Where can I get the 704-2BT BIOS? I can't seem to find it. Thanks!

    Mods done to 704-2BT:

    - based on 704-2
    - removed all the CAS settings that don't work
    - removed the added 0.1vdimm thats applied when you set TRCD to 2
    - unlocked some unknown register options (A , B , C , E , D)
    - Vcore bug of 704-X "removed" (123% and higher options have been removed, so safe to use)

Is the Crucial Ballistix 2x1GB kit available anywhere other than the Crucial online store? I cant seem to find anywhere that has stock.

Is there any difference between buying 2 single sticks and buying a 2GB kit?

    Crucial Rep

Anybody seen a crucial rep posting lately? There was a guy a month or so ago posting but havent seen him since. Crucial owes Enjoy and all ballistix owners on the DB a thank you for all the sticks we've sold. I'm convinced that this thread sold almost every available stick of 1GB ballistix. It sure would be nice to have a Crucial Rep around that knows what he's talkin about. If OCZ or Mushkin could put out some memory like this, I would definatley buy it over the ballistix, even if it costs a little more. My reason is the support we recieve from the OCZ and Mushkin peeps here in these forums. Step up Crucial!!

Well oddly enough a few folks have ordered the same Patriot sticks I got and they were all BE-5 and wont overclock worth a . The stuff I got is CE-5 and overclocks to 280. Anyone else got these modules yet?? Or did the OCing gods bless me?

Haven't PM'd to have this added, but I decided to try a less popular bugdet minded 1gb stick: Gigaram PC3500 (GR9053-1GB/433/SA). Uses AED93T500 chips on a PCB that i've seen elsewhere (94V-0 in the corner) although I can't quite put my finger on it.

Incomplete results: (I didn't test many timings)

    6-3-3-2 1T / 205mhz (DDR410) / 2.6v passes
    7-3-3-2.5 1T / 225mhz (DDR450) / 2.6v passes
    8-4-4-3 1T / 230mhz (DDR460) / 2.6v passes
235mhz at any timings or voltage fails

So not exactly a great stick, but I didn't expect much to begin with. I'm fairly confident that it could do 5-2-3-2 @ 200mhz without failing if I upped the voltage - it will hold those timings under memtest and prime for quite some time before having an error.

    Strange Results! Attention, please!

Last night I let my 2x1GB Crucial Ballistix SP32M overnight with dual instances, because I have a 4400+ X2 Dual-Core. This was using 275*8=2200 for CPU (stock speed). HTT multi was set to 3 (875HTT effective). Vcore = Auto in BIOS. Vmem = 2.8v. 1.5v/1.8v for chipset and ldt (perhaps reversed order...can't remember...max at least).

HOWEVER ... one instance FAILED "not exact in round" at less than half finished (at around 1/4 ~1/3 iirc... accidently clicked "ok" button...damn stupid GUI), while the other gladly passed without any errors whatsoever. Does this mean that my RAM can push it at 3-3-3-8 1T @ 275 and that my X2 isn't even dual SPI32M stable at stock?

I'd love if anyone could help me out!

Check out attached pic! (Colors are off since I had to change it to 256 colors only.)

Don't wanna spoil the party, but trc at 13.. that is mighty slow

    Nevertheless: Great results

Oh, just realized that you are running 754 Single Channel - well kinda hard to compare then
