    P4C800-E Deluxe Problem

I recently upgraded my bios. And I kept getting an error message that says:

    CMOS checksum bad
Overclocking Failed! Please enter setup to re-configure your system.
    Press F1 to enter setup.
Press F2 to load default values and continue.

I have to press F2 in order to boot into windows. Another thing that came with the message is how I have to turn my computer on:

    a)If I shut down.

    1.Shut down.
    2.Turn on via power button.
    3.Turn off via power button.
    4.Turn on via power button.
    5.Press F2.

b)If I have turned my power strip off.

    1. Turn power strip on.
    2.Turn on via power button.
    3.Turn off via power button.
    4.Turn on via power button.
    5.Press F2.

I cannot reboot because the monitor just stays in sleep mode.
I have tried bios # 1018,1021,1023,1024 beta and none of them fix the problem. Again this happend after I flashed a new bios. WHat should I do.

I finally fixed the problem by reflashing with the 1018 bios. Asus really has to get their act together and fix the newer bioses.

i have never had problems really with asus bioses, they are some of the better ones.

i have seen that screen before though, but only happened once or twice when pc was maxed out and crashed mid bench.

anyhoo, good to see you got it sorted

I had a similiar problem, but i got no display at all. I took it to RMA and they said it was a BIOS problem. They changed the whole BIOS ROM chip for me, right there on the spot and its working fine now.

And why you didn't pressed F1 and reconfigure the BIOS? This should fix yor problems in a second.

Sadly the bios would not save so every time I restarted it so it was the same as before so I could not do much about it. I have tried it though.

I have heard that this has happend with some people before but the only solution is to stick with asus's old more reliable bioses. It just seems that their quality has lowered.
