    Xtreme Macro!

I just got my Olympus C-8080 today and I was taking some super macro shots. This shot right here is a crop of a picture where the lens is about .5inches from the the object I was photographing.

Here is a picture of the Danger Den RBX I took. its cropped and reduced in size so it isnt too huge. The picture below is of the whole block. the field of view in this shot is 3cm.

Very nice pics, too bad it's too pricey for me and a bit too bulky (i'll check it in store anyway)

The RBX looks kinda ty, i mean those little copper stuff i'd hate it if they start flowing freely in my loop and destroy the pump

well ive run the pump for a while with my iwaki running at over 3gpm so there is realy no worries there. I also blasted it with the tap water which runs at ultra high psi and around 5gpm. and this pic was taken after all of that.

but i do agree that DD should clean it up a bit before sending them out.

Wow, it seems like my RBX was unfinished. Mine had the rows of raised copper, but it didn't have any holes drilled.

This is my 2yrs old Canon Powershot A60 - only 2MP but does excellent job shooting macro on a memory stick here I like how crisp are those resistor packs and traces on the left....

... one more - macro shot of a piece of PCB...

bachus if ur interested I have a plugin for barrel distortion which ur photos are suffering from a bit. its a incredibly common problem. (almost all cameras except special made 900 dollar macro lenses) that can easily be fixed with a little plugin for photoshop. pretty easy to use.

    One more...

    @Brian

You are very correct... This one as many other point-and-shoot cameras has a bit of a barrel distortion in macro as well as wide mode... I think I have that plugin somewhere but I don't really use it. I have not been taking many macro photos lately, except for tonight

EDIT: Yep, I got it, Brian! Just looked in Filters and there's PanoTools... b=-0.015 and d=-1.015 makes it look all nice and straight

100% sure, there are no drill holes. Mine also came with a lucite top when I ordered a brass one. It's the first and last thing I ever bought from DD.

Macro shot of a HD with BH6:

Macro shot (I think, it might have been regular) of some interesting RDram where the chips each looked like a CPU die:

Aphex_Tom_9: on ur camera there will be a little white flower (or maybe red). this is the macro feature. set it to that and snap away!

Craig: I've heard of DD making alot of mistakes lately, but they have corrected all mistakes very quickly and cros ship as well. As to ur block not being drilled.. Well im flaburgasted as DD quality control is very good in my experience.

bachus_anonym: pano tool! thats what i use... had to go to dpreview to learn how to use it but once u do its very easy to use. i use -.015 and 1.015 or 0.013 and 1.013. 15 gives pincushion sometimes

antipop: not much reason to reccomend TDX or RBX anymore these days. retail G4 has hit the shelves.. the king of cpu watercooling has taken the thrown..

Nice blooming flower, Brian... I was also looking around for some more examples of good looking macro and tripped over this...

... and this - my watch It was kind of hard to get a good light for it. Also, I don't have a filter so the glass has a bit of camera reflection in it

OK, that's all from me... Enough... All in all, not too bad for a 2MP, 2yrs old camera Peace out, yo!

Look in the Manual. I just downloaded it off Casio's website and it says there that minimum focusing distance for your camera in Macro mode is 2.4"...

the MP just sets how large of image you can get 2MP corresponds to 16x12. You could have a very high quality .1MP camera that makes better pictures, they would just be small.

Well that is theoretically true, the older 2mp CCD's of a few years ago were not of the quality that CCD's are in general today. Their color reproduction, crispness, chromatic aberation (ism) was all much worse than it is today.

Not all cameras are good at xtreme macro's, like mine, I really can't get that close.
