    Thread Tape?

Do any of you use this for any fittings in your WC setups? Is it something you only use if you have a leaky barb? Just curious..

Only on metal barbs with no o-ring.
O-ring barbs go in with no tape to finger tight then a half turn with a spanner.
Plastic barbs go in the trash.
Plain metal barbs get one or two turns of tape against the thread.
Some other guys use plastic barbs with silicone swipe on the thread.

I use it on all my barbs. Tho they are metal, I dont want to risk losing hardware because I skimped on something that costs $1 and takes 2 seconds to apply

That is good idea. Had a bad experience when leak testing a PA160 with plastic barbs.

I just refuse to use plastic barbs since I had one on my old mag3 pump crack after almost 2 years.

I hear that man...but unfortunately I have one of the old pre-ROHS MCR320s and it has 3/8 NPT flanges.

If you can name me a decent barb that will go in there I will run out and switch from nylon in a heartbeat.

Yep, there is a wide world of plumbing out there

    Harborfreight.com - they had 10 rolls for $1.50.

I use it on all the systems I've built for others that dont use chrome barbs. I use all chrome with o rings on my own stuff though.
