where did you hear this rumor? if so that is really cool. having storm G4's in retail would be amazingly sweet.. though i think swiftech would need to re-evaluate thier pump strategy if they did produce storms.
intesting. had no idea he posted there.
hasn't it been 10 days already? for the g4

This is good news G4’s/G5’s will be easier to attain.
Quoted from Cathar’s thread #19:
Quote:
"Will we see a GPU variant of the G4/G5"?
“No. I have a different design for the GPU’s/TEC’s which is almost paper complete and will go into prototyping soon.”
This is even better news, Cathar waterblocks for our GPU’s.

G4's in retail wouldnt destroy the watercooling market.. it would just make my job a heck of alot easier.. lol..
I would just have about 5k posts saying get the G4.... simple like that.
Well that would depend on the retail price too now wouldn't it?Originally Posted by MaxxxRacer
dont tell me they are gonna be 100 bucks stew.. I understand when they are coming from you why they are so expensive but when u get them in ur own cnc popping them out at a high rate, the setup costs are very low as they are distrutubed over a large number of blocks.
btw is this company keeping the design pure to ur materials and specs or are they gonna screw with it like what hapend with the WW.
All in good time, except to say that no one has anything to fear (well, nobody who wants one has a reason).
very good stew. very good. I'll have to get one of these for review if I can ever get my test setup actually working...
BTW, I applaud you for allowing the design to be used for mas production. I hope that you are getting a decent margin on these blocks as you more than deserve it. I can honestly say you have contributed more to the community than any one person.

I've accepted that I'll never be rich off water-cooling, not even with the Storm/G4 blocks in mass-production, but so long as I can afford to keep "playing" and experimenting, then that's where the fun is for me. Honestly, with all the hours I've spent on water-cooling over the last 3-4 years divided by the actual monetary return, I really would've been better off flipping burgers at McDonalds on the federal minimum wage, and that will still be true. It doesn't bother me in the slightest though, I'm more than comfortable due to my real job. 'tis a strange thing this water-cooling hobby.
The manufacturing is not being done by me. There's a big hint. This is a good thing though as it frees me up to do more of what I enjoy, which is pushing the boundaries wherever I am able to.
I have a great deal of faith that this partnership will be more beneficial for everyone concerned than in the past.
i hear you on the watercooling hobby... its just a money pit for me as of now.. horrible money pit.
i figured it wouldnt be manufactuers by you as the WW were not either. I do hope that it is produced by either swifty or DD though i doubt DD as you dont have much of a relationship with them afaik.
BTW, I hope you do the same kind of partnership with your TEC and gpu waterblock. I really am waiting for some decent and avaiable competition for the maze4. its about time something new came along.
speaking of the gpu block, do you have an eta on that yet. I know your doing this on the side and its not ur main job but I am very anxious to see what you have in store for us.
i guess if this is happening, cathar has something up his sleeve eh
/me puts feet up and watches with interest...
