2GB is overrated imo. For benching, 1GB is still the way to go...

I'm not a terrible fan of Doom 3, nor am I a fan of running games at 2T

Oh and btw, if you get the best performance with benching, you get the most fps in gaming...so unless you're encoding or doing 3d/2d animation, 2gb isn't a requirement or recommended for that matter.

I might get it once I join D20l down the road but for everything else, 1gb rules

I agree, but not all bench settings work in games.

BTW I love my Redline running 1.5-2-2-0 I dont think I could give that up for another GB runnint 5-6-7-15-5T

i think 2Gb will be needed soon, for gaming at least.

by far the best 2Gb kit atm is the ballistix pc4000.

ive seen someof it running around 280 at reasonable timings (2.5-3-3) iirc.

but more companies should be bring stuff out soon, or at least they should.

D2OL uses very little memory my man, im sitting here browsing on opera with 6 tabs open, listening to music (windows media player), talking on AIM, and folding 2x and still have 506mb of ram available and no page file usage.

also i bring the question of why he needs to cool his Xeons with G5 when everyone else runs with air. The man has some money to throw about as displayed with his Quad Itanium Server which will soon have 16gb of ram in it.
