Exclamation The Official X2 Overclocking Discussion Thread

I thought we should have one of these, right?

Hehe so FEDEX tracking has my X2 4200 scheduled for delivery by 3:30 on Tuesday. I'm not planning on going crazy with it right away, but I do like to feel out the limits of new hardware when I get it.

Long term I'd love to get a free speed grade out of it. Based on Venice OCing, what do you guys think of the X2 core potential????

Would ya believe Ebay, of all places? lol There were still four left when I bought it, let me check...

Wow, one left looks like and a new one showed up as an auction (my purchase was buy it now).

There was a different store selling 2 of each 4800, 4600, 4400, 4200 - but they were asking well over $1200 for the 4800s and not much better for the rest.

Is e-availability that bad? I really didn't take a look around the sites, but I was planning on buying a Venice 3800 when lo and behold......X2!

Oh you betcha, the second I have results, you have results.

Or supposed to be released yet... They had them in stock, maybe they just weren't allowed to ship any until tomorrow.

Well, we'll know Tuesday AM if I find a fedex box containing a note that says 'gotcha!'.

You're really gonna put all that stuff in a shuttle SFF?! gluck May limit your run ability not to mention overclocking. I think that PSU only has 17A 12 volts.

The Official(or soon to be)X2 Overclocking Thread
Actually once the X2s are released, this would be known as the official X2 Discussion Thread ...as the overclocking thread would have ONLY results in it .

monarch emailed me the other day about pre orders. they will be shipping on or a little before 6/16. slight price gouging. the 4400+ 2mb l2 looks like the best buy at around $50 more than the 4200+ 1mb l2. was going to order mine now, but i pre ordered a venice and after getting it wished i had waited. winchester/venice = no difference except lower temps, slightly less bandwidth. x2 will def be better performance but i will wait for gouging to end and also see which are best steppings.

    very truly yours,
    politenessman

Zebo : Possible, but I have faith in Shuttles. My last SN85G4V1 with a 240 watt PS (not sure about volt/amperage) handled 2x74 raptors, a 0.13u 3200, a 6800GT, Audigy2, & dvd burner without breaking a sweat. The .09u dual core power consumption is less than a .13u single core, so it should be ok. Besides I'm running 1 raptor now, no audigy, and using a 6800GTO.....still crossing my fingers though.

Is that the RRP excluding VAT @17.5%? If so the total cost would be over 450ukp.
