No need to answer in that way, thanks for the link anyway. Used SYSTRAN to translate it since Bable Fish wouldn't let me. Added the URL to the front page.

Anyone have an Asrock P4Dual-915GL? Supposedly, Asrock is a division of Asus (for the entry level market?), I'm curious if this thing would even POST with a CT-479.

It's testet on the Japanese site and looks like it didn't work.

What I am wondering is if it would be possible and increase the chances on success of running the CT-479
on unsupported "Northwood only" motherboards by sticking the CT-479 in ANOTHER slotket adapter,
namely the PowerLeap PL-P4P: http://www.powerleap.com/PL-P4P.jsp As you can read there, it adds
Pentium 4 Prescott THUS also 90nm support to "Northwood only" Socket 478 motherboards. And since the
Dothan uses 90nm technology, it seems logic to me that it MIGHT make it possible to run the CT-479 too
on these old unsupported motherboards too, right? It does only seem to be sold with the Pentium 4
processor included though... And I'm not sure if maybe the PL-P4P might be glued to it, you never know.
    Hummm...

Oh, and another idea that came into my mind is: Sticking the CT-479 into the PowerLeap PL-P4P and then
even sticking that one into ANOTHER slotket adapter, namely the PowerLeap PL-P4/N:
http://www.powerleap.com/PL-P4N.jsp or the Upgradeware Socket 423 to Socket 478 slotket adapter:
http://www.upgradeware.com/english/p.../p478/p478.htm As you can read on these two sites, these
two slotket adapters add support for Socket 478 processors to Socket 423 motherboards... So maybe when
using them together with the CT-479 and the PowerLeap PL-P4P, it might be possible to run a Dothan in
an unsupported Socket 423 dinosaur mobo! Now imagine that! ROFL! Anyone wanna try? Hehe.

the only way to know is to try

the same as I have sticked GU370 adapter into powerleap neo S370 modded adapter and then on top on then tualatin PIII and it worked in a simple socket 370 borad and then in a BP6

Woah, now that's a cool idea. Anyone have the means to test this?

This would rock my world. I was looking into buying this board recently, to replace my fried D875PBZ, and was hoping it would work with the CT-479 adapter. I didn't find anything on mainboards outside of Asus that would work, and I didn't have the cash to upgrade from my 9800 Pro, yet I wanted to be able to expand/upgrade as I was able. Hence, this Asrock board seemed perfect! Since it didn't seem compatible, I bought an Asus P4P800, and will likely upgrade to a Dothan/Ct-479 sometime in the future.

pcn: "the same as I have sticked GU370 adapter into powerleap neo S370 modded adapter and then on top on then tualatin PIII and it worked in a simple socket 370 borad and then in a BP6"
ROFL! That I find not only very smart but also even darn funny! For the people here that don't quite understand what pcn did: by sticking the PowerLeap Neo S370 (as displayed on http://www.powerleap.com/NeoS370.jsp) into his Socket 370 Celeron motherboard, he added support for the faster Coppermine core Pentium III (up to 1.1GHz) to it, and then by sticking the Upgradeware GU370 (as displayed on http://www.upgradeware.com/english/p...70gu/370gu.htm) into the PowerLeap Neo S370 added support for the even faster Tuatalin core Pentium III (up to 1.4GHz) to it. A processor into a slotket adapter into another slotket adapter, thus. Although those are different slotkets made for other types of sockets than the ones considered in this thread, of course this still sounds a bit promising when thinking about sticking the CT-479 a PowerLeap PL-P4P adapter (and maybe also the PowerLeap PL-P4/N or Upgradeware Socket 423 to Socket 478 slotket adapter), as I poster above here.

jimmyboy: "Woah, now that's a cool idea. Anyone have the means to test this?"
Well ermmm... I do have a few "Northwood only" Socket 478 motherboards, I "even" do have a "Northwood only" Socket 423 Asus P4T , I also do have a CT-479 adapter, I do have a Socket 423 to 478 adapter, I do have two Socket 478 3.46GHz Prescott Pentiums (of which one is an Engineering Sample but that aside), but I don't have the PowerLeap PL-P4P adapter nor a Pentium M or Celeron M processor. The PowerLeap PL-P4P I'm actually considering buying but only if I can somehow obtain one without the Prescott processor included in the package. I have emailed PowerLeap about that and am still awaiting their reply. But the Pentium M or Celeron M... Unfortunately I don't have one yet. I have an Asus P4GD1 mobo, but I'm not sure yet if I will buy a Pentium M because I want to try and figure out first, if I can somehow fix the lack of a decent PCI-E lock above 200FSB on that mobo. Maybe by somehow creating and/or using some kind of turbo-pll. If I can manage to solve that lack of a PCI-E lock above 200FSB, I think I rather want to stick with my Prescott Pentiums and run it at 300(+)FSB / 1:1 with my OCZ EL DDR PC-4800 sticks instead of going Pentium M. But if someone here is willing to come and visit me with his or her Pentium M or Celeron M and if I can get a PowerLeap PL-P4P without the Prescott processor included then sure, come and visit me.

well, i still have it underway, cause that old BP6 is nearly dying and needs cap replace and some mods to get those 1400Mhz PIII-S tualatins working on its natural 133Mhz FSB. BX just gets too hot for that 133 but yeah, it works

Yo there, enough with the offtopic, go chat on your private messages about your personal beliefs, stay on-topic here please.
I think the japs page looks to be updated now. Epox 4PDA seems to support CT479, the same for P4P800D - great news since now the P4P800SE PAT mod can be also brought to Dothan.
In my home experiments with TCCD on Intel, i875P could not go over 250 1:1, my P4P800SE@P4P800D goes as far as 285 1:1 and that's a CPU capping. I also competed with an Abit IC7 and managed to get more bandwidth with my little Asus board. Droop mod is a must.

Later edit: tested latest bios (1021 beta) of P4P800/Deluxe with CT479. Yes, it boots up but multi control is disabled and my PM750 was recognized only on 6x multi. P4S800D-E users can also find a new beta bios on the asus site, maybe the ct479 is supported.

    have anyone try/tested P4V8X-X and P4V8X-MX?
I have looked everywhere but no one seems to talk about this motherboards if they fit with the ct-479 adapter, even on the japanese link. I am currently using the mx one.
