Around 9800 according to this test:
    http://www.tweaktown.com/document.ph...rticle&dId=771
"3DMark05 is known to favour nVidia cards, so it’ll be interesting to see some results using other benchmarks."

    Another thing:
"Interestingly, if you’re going to be upgrading to a Crossfire setup you’ll need to purchase the primary card directly from ATI, as we were told from numerous vendors that ATI will maintain full control over these."
Something tells me they will be hard to find for quiete some time.

i love dfi, and hopefully their crossfire board will be just as kick ass as their nforce 4 board... But one thing that I am happy about is the SPACING between the two cards, from what i can tell dfi double spaced the pci X16 slots, which is an awesome move. More room means more air which means less heat... And I'm happy to hear about the pricing as well...

hmm i thought there was an adapter that plugged into both cards such as this:

it might just be shots of them testing... no idea really.
it's from the DFI booth at Computex.

Even though this is nice, it means that one has to have a chipset + gfx brand from the same chip manufacturer. If I now wanted dual x850xt's I would have to get a CF x850xt + a DFI x200 board. Terrible...

That is terrible news, disregarding the good news that dual GFX now works with ATI cards.
In short, both AMD and NVIDIA discovered that their next-generation graphics cards are superior to each others' last-generation graphics cards.

Well according to most reviews ATI is likely to expand CrossFire support to other platforms in future. I sure hope that in near future end-user will have an independent platrom choice..

In those pics the dongle is only connected to card 1... why?

Hmmmm....seems two slaves do particularly well together without the dongle. It also seems that a X800 CF (400/980, mind you) and an X850 flashed to X800 (520/1120) seemed to get 10k...two X850XTpes probably will get 11.5k, I imagine. Then add 5.6s and other advances and we'll see 12k soon, I'm sure.

Believe me I know this feeling all too well. Getting a little discouraged with all this newer, better stuff coming out as soon as I buy other things. Getting to be a bit impossible to keep up with other monetary priorities in life. I'm far from rich. I guess I will just have to settle with my Ultra-D for a while longer and just upgrade to a SD or FX and R520 in the winter.

the ultra D has been around for a few months now, it's not like they just released it last week, then ATI came out with this....

Yea I suppose you're right however a 'few months' is still not that long. I waited a bit longer than others to get my Ultra-D due to all the problems and sudden deaths I was reading about it when it first came out. When I did get my first one it did infact die however the RMA replacement is working fine right now and has been for about 2 months or so.

Hmmm ... a couple months to transistion my current rig to a dedicated water cooled gaming rig and prepare for this new mobo as a pure bencher? Doubtful. Is it possible DFI will pull yet another rabbit out of their hats on a completely new chipset. Seems like long odds. Hell I'm in for one because it give me an excuse to pick up a revision E cpu. I'm guessing the DFI/ATI mobo will end up as the gaming rig and my current mobo will be spending quality time with a new CPU while awaiting the arrival of the new Nvidia GPU late in the year.
Sourcing parts for a mildly over clocked abacus.
