Well i ran it outside with watercooling lastnight and it seems over voltage protection is kicking in around around 2.05v. If you have decent aircooling i would think 1.8v to bench wouldn't be asking too much provided you aren't seeing over 50c temps on load. When i was on air with i peaked at 48-50c indoors with a normal ambient temps so i would use that as a guide to "decent aircooling". Higher than that then you probably don't have enough airflow around the card or poor contact on the GPU. Right now i've left the GPU set at 1.77v in 3d with 622/1250 set as my clocks for 24/7 opteration.(ATI tool shows arti free up to 640 core) Peak load temps are 38c which badly beat down the stock coolers max that was over 70c at defalt clocks.

I have an XFX GT6600 and the fan on it really stinks.. my IDLE temps on the GPU were almost 50C already (seriously!) but it's watercooled now so temp shouldn't too much of an issue
I'll just wait for my new PSU to arrive before I try any higher voltages, it's barely coping with the current power demand

I hope I'll get a bit better results tho, because as I said at 1.3V I got 610 MHz out of it already, artifact free for 15+ minutes. And with .2V more I only gained 10 MHz :/

Will these mods work on a PCI-e 6600 non-gt? I have a Leadtek 6600 pci-e that has stock clocks of 300/225 (550 DDR). Does anybody know what the stock vgpu and vmem are for this card? It should be drastically different for the vmem since it's ddr rather than gddr3 I would think.

I'd like the vgpu to be about 1.6 (since it's just a nerfed 6600gt core) and the vmem to be about .2-.3v above whatever stock is if that's possible.

I finally hooked up my 6600 GT OC with the core and memory mods.

Used a couple of 50K Ohm VRs for the mods, and soldered wires to the voltage read points.

    what results from this mod?

Is it safer to use 50kohm VR than 10kohm?
What are the original(stock/whitout mod) resistance in TP503 & TP504?

but today I used VR for mem too and overvoltaged it up to 2,3V..I killed my card

I used 50K Ohm VRs, but 10Ks or 20Ks would do O.K. as well; you'd see an overvolt less than 0.1V with those resistances.

My card actually died as well. I fried it by accident; shorted my peltier on the card and put 22V through the card. The Vcore regulation fried :-/

Bought a new card though, it's hooked up now and voltmodded. Still need to see where it goes with overvoltage.

i used 10k for core and 20k for mem..I can't still understand what happened..what is the max safe V for mem? cooling wasn't problem..

Personally, I don't intend to go above 1.85V for the core, and 2.3V for the memory. But I am on peltiered watercooling.

Is the memory voltmod for VDDR or VDDQ or both? How can I adjust VDDQ on this card?

mine core was 600@1,55V at the "accident" and mem 1320@2,2V and didn't want to go farther; so I started to raise the voltage to 2,3 and then picture shut down(but pc was running!)..

    what't the VDDQ??? still a n00b :P

Here's what I got out of my card after some quick testing:

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=1650143, 684/1323 with my system all stock

Going to try for a fair bit more on the core, I only took it to 1.7V, and my load temperatures are still staying below 15 degrees celcius.

I did both the core and mem but didn’t get any joy from the mem mod so took it off just went with a 25k on the core card ran 700/1400 on water @1.6v leadtek 66gt ex

Single 66gt 05 ran 5336@700/1400, 03 ran 12303@700/1371 and 01 ran 30107@ 700/1400 any thing over that just couldn’t keep it cool enough

I am hoping to get the most out (pencil mod) of my 6600GT. It has some fan thing I made from a case fan and some other parts ( works pretty well) temps at idle are like 39 degrees and load @ 45ish

I am pretty bad at soldering, but I can rub pencils on things.

Picture gallery is here www.greensteve.com and tell me if you need any more pictures.

I just got a 7900GT to I can go crazy on this one.
    Thanks for any help.
