    Oc'ing OCZ el plat 3200

    Hey fellas, new here would like to give myself a warm welcome .
    Anywho! My aging system need more juice ! So searchin' all over the place this group seems to be the authority in knowing their stuff; I always wanted to OC my system but the explenations and steps to achieving this were mediocre at best.

    My current setup:
    A64 3200+ Winchester w/a Venus 12, MSI Neo Plat2 Bios v1.3, 1GB Ocz El Plat Rev2 (512x2), 36GB SATA Raptor, 200GB SATA WD 7200Rpm, Sound Blaster Audigy 2, 6800GT OC, 500w X-Connect Ultra Mod PSU, Plextor CDrw 40/20a/40, Memorex DVDRom 16x.

    Ive read really good reviews and setups where 3/3/3/10/1T was achieved but If i atempt those settings on my pc I wont even get a post. So how would I go around on OC the mem, would anything eles need OC'ing (like processor)

    CPU is at 42c right now, and the mobo is at 34c. Anything eles you need to know just ask!

    Hi OmegaMerc

    1st, I would update the bios to 1.5 or the new 1.8....they have a couple extra options that help with this ram.

    The drive strength should be set to weak...pressing ctrl-F1 then alt-F2 in your bios should "unlock" that setting, I think.

    Make sure "Aggressive timings" is set to disabled.
    In the Cell Menu, DRAM config page:
    Memclock = 200
    1T/2T = 1T
    CAS = 2.5
    tRCD = 3
    tRAS = 8
    tRP = 3

    Set the Ram voltage to 2.7 or 2.8
    FSB to 240 for now
    HTT multiplier to 4x (or 3x even)
    CPU multi to 9
    CPU VID to 1.30
    CPU Special VID to 113% (I think this is available? I haven't had the Neo2 bios up in quite some time.)

    Let me know how that goes

    Thanks

    Dumb Question, I dont have the MSI software installed; I tryed to look for the website that updates all the stuff automatically but I didnt see it in msi.com.tw.

    edit2: I found the bios but its not the easy-to-use-update-tool wizard; I dont have a floppy drive so I was wondering if I can get the auto update software somewhere.

    Yuck; Corecenter doesnt work either.

    Atempted to change the HTT and the little box pops up but it just *freezes* in place and hangs my system; is wxp64 that bad?
