    Talking 2000W Chiller

    Yeha, im back again
Maybe some of you still know me, well... i hope so...

Well, i just started to build a Chiller, well, its not my first, but the first i will publish.
The Project was thought to be just for one Forum (fastgen, maybe some germans here know), but sky meant i should post it, well here we go.

    The Hardware:
    L`Unite CAJ2446Z
    CEV 4130 (Condenser)
Selfmade Pipeheatexchanger (oh dear, my english...)
Filterdriers, 10mm for the liquidline and 12 for the suctionline
    Bitzer FS36 Accumulator
    Alco Pulsmod. Expansionsvalve EX2

I think i got all the other stuff at home...

Most of the stuff, condenser, driers, PMEV, compressor, accumulator...
It's no Bitzer, they didn't had one and i didn't wanted to waste time, so i took this one, it has 4cm³ more then the Bitzer and it does not have thoose glasses (name?).

    Screwdriverwork! \o/
Haha, well... this was fun... i need a electric one again.

    done.

    phear my new skateboard

Condenser is up, screwdrivertime again \o/

Bit later, at 8PM i stopped because i wasn't in the mood to continue... tomorow comes a new day

    and the other side

Ahye, and the PMEV, cool thing

    WOW...

what temps are you expecting ??

im assuming 2000w just allows you to cool more... and not neccesarily getting it colder than a 200w chiller...

I hope u have a 220v heavy duty outlet there! A compressor of that size isn't gonna run on 115v and will draw in upwards of 10amps or so depending on its load.

Are you sure its 2000w? Google says its a 1.25HP compressor, and the specs say it maxes out at 1100w.

    Either way, its a beast.

I think he wants to be sure you won't waste any gas because of very small leaks.
For those of you about to post:

Well, I seem to see alot of these bubbly looking brazes that the novices do. Bubbly brazes usually mean a weak joint. It does not denote a successful braze.

I thought I was seeing the signs, but without a closeup theres really no way of telling.

btw. i'm no more novice, just a bit out of practice.

Looks like an industrial Chiller, as far as i know his job is to build thoose units.

Thanks, well, I'm a 100% perfectionist, lol, that doesn't make things easier
Well, why do you mean I should make a U-bend on the discharge line?

@topic: I did not had that much time on the weekend, I just made it to connect the drier to the accumulator, nothing special here...

That particular unit is rated at 40 Tons. You can convert that to Watts or BTUs if you want.

Given that 1 Ton = 12000 BTUs, then This Unit has a total Capacity of 480,000 BTU/hr Capacity

    1 BTU/hr = .293 Watts, so 480,000 BTU/hr = 140640 Watts Capacity
