I guess that I just slept through this entire thread.

Is newegg shipping Speed Premiums with the BH5, instead of the CH5 die?

I followed that TwinMOS thread for the longest time but have dropped off during the last couple of weeks.

Too sloow (that's because I was trying to add a picture)!
Oh man that is great! I stand corrected... my bad.

Reason I was so quick to say it aint happening is cos I was told on DFI-Street... long ago, that it wasn't really planned anymore... if this comes out I am right there!

This is my best excuse to go 939 yet!

No need to replace my 9800 or PC PnC PSU... jus a new CPU!

    Thanks Reefa

    [EDIT]
On second thoughts the CPU socket area looks cramped and there is no point to move from 754 AGP to 939 AGP... I will stay put

    [EDIT THE EDIT]
Conrad, sorry for some reason I thought Reefa posted twice... anyway giving credit where it's due, cheers for the heads up man

I loaded up A64 tweaker. This is a screenshot of it and cpu-z with 1x 512mb. These settings are 100% stable with both sets of memory but not together. I didn't change anything with A64 tweaker, I just loaded it up and took the screenshot. Raising the v-core did not help at all. The 512mb stick in this screenshot is currently @ 2-2-2-5 1T 240mhz 3.4v

    Good luck

It looks like you're using slots 1 & 2, if so, then try 1 & 3. I experienced the same problems when ram were in 1 & 2 slots, obviusly i only tried it, because i knew about that problem from some errors i got with a NEO P one year ago...

OK, your timings are definately NOT too aggressive...

Trying different slots is a good start, it really depends on which slots your CPU/Mobo combo prefer... for one CPU it may be different to another so we can't give you a straight answer here.. you just need to try it for yourself.

My suggestion, AFTER TRYING DIFFERENT SLOTS, is to play with the DRIVE STRENGTH option... for me it does make a significant difference.

Again... please provide all information requested though man... we are trying to help you so helping us to help you would speed the process up.

    Good luck dude

I am NOT using both sticks at the moment, it is totally unstable with both sticks in no matter what slot configuration I'm using. After burning in the single 512mb stick I've been using is capable of 250mhz 2-2-2-5 totally stable.

CPU multiplier = x10 2500mhz (cpu can do 2700 stable)
LDT multiplier = x3 (I'll raise it once everything else is stable!)
    vCore= 1.6v, vChipset= 1.6v (raising it does nothing), vDimm= 3.4v
What memory slots you are using? = only one at the moment as using two in any configuration 1 & 3, 1 & 2, etc is unstable.
What Smart Guardian reports your 3.3vRail level as... is it over 3.4v? = It is @ 3.5v because I'm running the memory @ 3.4v with the 4v vdimm bios.

even @ 200mhz x 10, stock volts, stock timings, it is completely unstable in any slot configuration.

btw: I have three sticks of it so I can rule out that I have one "bad" stick that is causing these issues. No matter what sticks I use it is unstable.

Enable 2T (CPC Disabled) no good for benching...but at least it'll be much faster for daily usage.

    Will setting it to 2T kill performance? Would I be better off running a single 512mb stick @ 1T 2-2-2-5 250mhz 1/1 or both sticks (1gb) @ 200mhz 2T 2-2-2-5 1/1?

I'll do some more tweaking after I get back from seeing Star-Wars this afternoon.

try getting a venice and s939, tbh. It's almost certainly the memory controller, as it really does not cope well with 2x512 at 1t.

btw that dfi 939 agp board is exactly what i'm after. I can keep my nice 6800, and still move to s939. Since ATI are going to release the r520 on agp, it's perfect.

Sorry bro I think it's your CPU's memory controller...

What sort of a budget do you have?
How much do you want to run that RAM at higher speeds?
    What cooling do you have?

You might want to consider getting a 754 Newark Mobile CPU... a 3400+ Newark should get some real nice numbers at a reasonable price, and will almost certainly come with a nice strong memory controller

Where can I find a mobile Newark? I have about $300-ish right now. If the DFI agp 939 board was out I'd go that route with a 3000+ venice. This memory isn't even stable @ 2T 200mhz stock timings if I'm running 2x 512mb. I might just have to use 512mb x1 @ 250mhz 1/1 2-2-2-5 (which is 100% stable) until I can afford a complete 939 swap.

I would gladly go with a newark if I knew that it would correct my problem.

out of interest, what is a newark? i guess it's a new AMD cpu, so is it like winchester on 754?

Anyone else who can recommend something? It won't run stable even @ 2T no matter what the speeds.

I may just be out of frickin luck. (the luck that I don't have)

my new tmsp pc3500 only runs at CL1.5-2-2-2 only....

anything other than that won't be able to enable bank interleave else 200Mhz also a problem to start with...

w CL1.5-2-2-2, 200 is also a no go too but above 220Mhz ok...

drive strength is nothing to play w my sticks...either it works or can't load memtest at worst...totally no clue of this...

I am lost in tuning this ram too but finally get it to work in dual channel w bank interleave and now burning in at 237Mhz

Unhappy You are using a crippled chip

I.e., one of the channels is not used for whatever reason. This is why I went to 939 and dual channel. DFI/754 was never truly happy w/ 2 DS sticks . Best thing I ever did was switch to SLI-D and (for example) my 3200+ winnie that runs @ 2600 @ stock Vcore. Memtest perf: @ same speeds. (say 10x250) 2000(754) vs 2800(939) mb/sec. AND STABLE .

That's why I got out of 754 land, was very frustating.

Have 1 stick of Corsair LLPT + 1 of KHX3200 (both .5G) and they run fine together up to 245 @ 3.2 Vdimm (really should try more but burning in my new Gskill first ) on 939.

Could never get more that 230 stable on 'da UT'.

change it to look something like this. i think your main problem is the read preamble. 5.0ns is pretty tight. also, disable dynamic idle cycle counter

i was using 3.4v at the time, classic bh-5.

my clawhammer was crap with 2 DS sticks, couldn't get over 235mhz. now i can get my ballistix to ~265mhz with both sticks in after switching to newark.
