A64 Newcastle 754, What does yours do?

Please post the stepping/cooling/max overclock/voltage of your socket 754 Newcastle A64. I'm very interested in seeing what others have achieved.

Did they get better over time? I would love to throw mine under some extreme cooling.

    Indeed they do / did..

I remember when the first 64´s came out -- Anything past 2700MHz was outstanding..

    air cooled s754 3400 newcastle:
    1.55v 2.5ghz
    1.65v 2.65ghz
    1.72v 2.7ghz+

24/7 stable - 1.72v gets too hot with case closed

    hi there!

    mine does 2400mhz @ 1.4 vcore
    max 2550 mhz stable...

don't really know what's the problem but it isn't such a great overclocker
I've got a sucky memcontroller, I have to use 166 mhz divider for 2400MHZ,
otherwise my pc reboots on 1T timings :S

really a bugger that my cpu sucks... but I've got really sucky heatpaste (free stuff) maybe that's the prob.

thx for all the stepping info, If I get new heatpaste I'll write down the stepping and post it here.

I seriously doubt the thermal paste is your issue. If your temperatures are good replacing the thermal paste won't give you anything.

    hi,

    http://home.tiscali.be/phidico/Xyus/...e%20screen.jpg
my suicide screen... If I compare it with yours...

You've got a really good oc cpu!!
If you're going to sell it, contact me

My best superpi is 35 sec, offcourse not stable.

But maybe I've got a bad memcontroller (main guess)
I have to use 166mhz dividers for to reach 2400mhz, My pc is benchstable on 200mhz dividers but after a while it reboots while Internet, chatting, It's still a big mystery for me! When I change it to 2T timings the problem is solved so...

    hi,

    2.85v? not enough?

change heatpaste tot as5 won't solve the problem I think, but isn't there a change that my memcontroller get's to hot or something like that?

on whatever divider I do 2600mhz isn't stable with superpi for 10sec's :s not even on 2T timings or what voltage.
I still have to try NB voltage adjustments, but I doubt it.

ok I haven't got the worst oc cpu 2200mhz... that's really bad luck.

Maybe I'll have the chance of to buy a s754 mobile cpu/newark very cheaply...

bought myself a 3400+ newcastle last week, stepping is 0511 DPMW.

got a defective board however, so no overclocking this week.
    oh, forgot had a 3000+ and a 3200+ see pic :

don't know anymore what was on the chips though
