A64 Sockel Kit for Mach I SELFMADE?

Hey there,

nobody was able to help me with my gigabyte topic but i hope there are still some good mach I user here.
i want to make a testrun with my Mach I on my K8NXP-9...first i have to repair the pins for the mobo and test startup-system compatibility again.
What you think bout putting sealstring on the backplate around the socket - is this enough? i have lots of sealstring here so i only want to use this for isolation on the first testrun. will get some armaflex tomorrow
but now the real prob: i have a socket A kit and a p4 (don't know exactly) kit - not compatible to socket 939 what is the best way to get this fixed anyway??????
Please help me as soon as possible so that i maybe can make some nice 3 GHZ shots of my NC 3500+

i'd say don't bother trying to get the socket a kit fitted. if you want to make your own mounting kit search for a guide that has two plexiglass plates as backplate and top plate mounting the head to the cpu. most people prefer that because it's so much easier to mount.

yeah think will do it like this - not found such a good howto yet, but i allready figured out a similar solution on my own will do this tomorrow and pixx will come from the beginning until the end but i don't think it is difficiculty.

well here are the first picture, but this one was "just another try" ...
The screws were too short and i have to take out the entire board out of the tower again
and isolation with sealstring on the proc isn't clever....while testing if its all fitting it, the seal of the proc sticked to the seal of the evap.
the armaflex is too wide too for the newcastle without hs. there is a small breach between eva an die so i will have to do this again tomorrow...too angry to do it now...i planned to be on clocking right now

Mounting is easy. This is a custom cooler with a MAchII evap. The backplate is a 2mm steel plate with 3mm isolation tape on it.

my problem is the missing hs on the processor. this makes it all much harder...i almost killed my newcastle some mins ago while checking position of the copper core...was not exact enough and an edge scratched die edge
so i had to reinstall air cooling and check the proc, but still booting, no time for windows boot, guess it is still allright, because its really almost non-visible.
i can't find my hs and think this will stop me...don't want to crash my cpu so i need to find my hs first (and now idea where to search)
i hate these moments...everything is going wrong

but no money and i waited 6 months for the day everything is here...but the stats of today are an unfinished mounting kit and an almost damaged 3500+ ^^ i'm afraid trying it again tomorrow, sunday no shop open to get some more materials *argh*
i've been building air cooling systems since years but this compressor cooling starts getting to be hard...i don't like the mach I evap - unhandy and you have no feeling when the copper is on the die...maybe its better if you have an original kit and a proc with hs but all this modded stuff here won't fit...it's 2:30 in the night in germany will go sleeping and will go on in a few hours. thanks for help and your attention guys - you giving me the will to go on, because i see it can work

any idea how to fill the gap between die and evap?
can i use more silicon paste?
cpu not getting cold enough specially when rising vcore up tp 1.65V.
Will take off it again tomorrow to see if there was contact.
But if there are any suggestions for my problem with filling out the gap please help! i think i will sell the newcastle and buy a proc with hs.

use some ceramique on the die..mount the evaporator.
Then remove the evaporator and look at the print of the interface between the die and the evap...that will tell you if you got good contact and if it is centered where you want...

After waiting 6 months to gather all your goods...whats another few days to keep your gear in good shape...take your time because blown gear benches like ass...

allright - it is "tomorrow" here in germany 2:15 in the morning...i haven't any ceramique here, but i made a kind of print with sealstring ^^
there was direct contact between die and evap copper core but not completely...there was some seal pressed on the edges of the die and a little bit to much seal around the cpu. but this was what was saving the die from cracking...i had a little bit to much pressure. it was very hard to remove evap.
still thinking about using more thermally conductive paste (silicon based) but i need your experiences first

it's looking like hell here in my flat ... time to get this finished in a few hours and tidy up here ^^ if it's working today (hopefully), I will make pics of the chaos here

I'M LUCKY even it seems to be not fitting perfekt - on 1.75V bios shows me over zero temps again....will check this later...know I'm just happy it runs!
