    Regarding differences noticed in testing... keep in mind results will vary depending upon what is in your system and loading. Besides the things in the above referenced post, IR drop, particularly on the +12V rail (of which there is only 1 of in a standard 20-pin cnx) starts having affects with heavily loaded systems. There are also distinct benefits to extra seperate ground connections all the way back to the supply that have nadda to do with current carrying capabilities

    I wouldn't suggest that much load on a single wire either lol

    But my PSU is barely rated 21a on the 12v line...

    I'm using a loaded a64 system with my antec 350w psu... and my 12v line is holding 11.95v just fine. The 24pin mod has no noticable differences wether im using that, or an adaptor. overclocked, and stock..

    3 fans, 2.2ghz winnie, dvd burner, wd800jb, x700pro, 512mb mushkin tccd/5, and a tornado. 2x CCFL's, but arent always on.

    Also use a sb live! pci, and an ipod/3 pendrives on the USB.

    I'd say its quite.. loaded... for a 350w eh?

    Your supply may be nicely loaded since it's only 350W, yes. But, no offense to your system... it is not loaded and that's why you see no real difference in your test Remember, drives aren't powered thru the 24 pin ATX connector, nor is the CPU... even if you had a FX CPU and a 4-drive RAID system it wouldn't affect the 24-pin ATX connector loading. Try the same test with a high end SLI system and a GB or two of TCCD (just get a different PS first, lol)... which I think was Eversor's point... in higher-end systems it can (and does) make a difference.

    My PSU fan runs at ultra-high speeds after doing this mod. The air coming out isn't warm in the least bit. Theories anyone?

    The method i used was, i took the sata power cable and used those for the 3.3v, 5v, and 12v and soldered it into a 24 pin socket along with the original 20 pins into the new socket. I am kind of confused from the first pic in the thread, why is there any need to remove any wires from the original 20 pin config?

    He's talking about cutting some plastic from a second "trash" 20-pin plug psu to use alongside the good 20 pin psu.
