Arrow Can a Mach1 be Modded to Handle 200w? How Much $ ?

I've read up on mods for the mach1, but I'm not sure whether it will be enough to handle my Prescott. How much would the appropriate mods cost? What skills do I need to do them myself? Would I damage the Mach1 if it ran at 0c?

You will not damage the mach1 by running 0c as long as the compressor doesn't get to hot.

My Mach1 is refilled with R507 and i reinsulated it. Turning of the heating in the head and running the fans on full when you are benching or even putting higher RPM fans on it helps a lot.

Then it will be able to handle 200w for sure

Do you need to mod a Mach1 to handle a Prescott? I don't think so. We had a 3.2E running dual prime @4.0GHz with a unmodded Mach1 without any problems.

How hot is too hot for the compressor. I just ran my mach1 for 20min and the compressor was getting hot. I could hold my hand on it but it was on the hot side of harm.

Is it ok to run unit without any load at all.

for how long. I wouldn't want to for more than 15-20 sec. I'd feel pain but I don't think its hot enough to burn flesh

Comperssors like the heat, the oil dont though. Not sure what the limit would be on your oil but I think its in the region of 120ºC So you should be fine

Sounds like you will be fine.

Mach 1 gets pretty cold without modding. Wouldn't hurt to add a fan in front of the condensor and make sure that you have the side panels on the prommie....

Hopefully Chilly1 will step in and give us some input.

I sure would hate for you to ruin your prommie...

Cool. Highly doubt any manufacturer would just allow their compressor to burn itself up.

Thermal protection is a must have.

Chilly1 will mod the compressor for you if you are interested. I know the price, however, that is something that should be discussed with him through a PM.

    Take care

I might just do it myself. Thats how I do everything else. Its not the best way to avoid a headache but I worry about shipping it. No offense to any one but ups fedex dhl, they all suck. I bet they would set it on the side throw it around bang it up and then act stupid like nothing happend and blame it on me. It really makes me nervous to ship it. I'll just read up and do the mods myself then I might ask the local air conditioning place to fill it so I don't have to pay for 25 pounds of refrigerant. If not that I'll get certified. Pretty soon I'll graduate from college and hopefully I'll be able to afford 25 pounds of each kind. Then I might wip up a special blend or something crazy. LOL!!!

Yeah some ship couriers really have total disregard for the safety of their customers belongings.

I wonder how many employees use the use the courier that they are employeed with when they order something...and if it's broke when it arrives, how they feel about it.

Good luck with doing the mod yourself...
