    Good man Bachus.

THere are two categories: Suicide and Stable

However, in between is SP1M, SP16M, SP32M, 3dMark01/03/05 stable etc.

I would always post my highest stable oc.
In short, both AMD and NVIDIA discovered that their next-generation graphics cards are superior to each others' last-generation graphics cards.

Well, there, we've solved that little problem.

LOL thats right but I bet hes gonna go out and buy a Venice or especially diego anyway because he can

"hmm, How in the hell do you know the average OC for venice chips?"

from the few ive seen. Also Venice clocks higher than winny, period.

"Even if the clocks aren't significantly higher than Winchester, at least I'll be able to abuse my memory the way it was meant to be. This flaky memory controller stuff is for the birds."

Yea id like to overclock my ram for a change instead of underclock due to winnys ondie If Venice doesnt clock so great, ill just run something like 333fsb with an 8x multi to give it 2.67GHz with ram 1:1

"They are tight lip because the sale of lousy Winchesters they made in the past few months is dead as soon as they release Venice. So there might be a delay to get rid of the CBBID junk."

sad to say but its probably true, amd wants to empty their stock of CBBID junk that does 2.3GHz average. I did hear release dates were supposed to be April 4 for Venice but it wont be the first, second or even third time they delayed anything

"Nah... dude AMD won't delay because of crappy winchesters... If the winchesters RUN at the speed they are rated they will sell..."

You might have a good point, amd can still sell to those that DONT overclock or have motherboards that dont work right with Venice, but they will still have a harder time selling once Venice comes unless AMD artificially inflates Venice price till they deplete winny stock then "have a price cut"

"because I killed my 3000+ winny that does 2850 24/7 and need a replacement bad."

That cant have been on air But if it was, better hope the Venice you get is as good!

I agree that venice will be artifitially inflated just like winchesters are now...

However, if you look at the state of affairs for the 3500+, well there are 3 types now for 939, so if AMD was worried AT ALL about not being able to sell winchesters because they introduce Venice, then why would they release the AS 3500+? I will tell you: Because the had the extra Clawhammer cores, and no one in the REAL WORLD cares which type they get (or even can tell for that matter, all they see is 3500+)
We here at XS have special ability to see extra numbers and ;letters which are normall invisible to the avg human... heh

http://www.sbs.o.se in Sweden have them listed, in stock April 29. The prices are higher as expected... but that 3800+ is just crazy, almost the double! Must be a typo.

Well I dont expect alot of 3800s to sell when a much better 4000 Diego can be had for just a bit more. I remmember when s939 first came out, almost no one was buying 3800+ Newcastles, they either got a 3500+ or a fx53 back then. I expect 3000+ and 3200+ Venice to waaaaaaaay outsell the 3500 and no knowlegable guy will go for a 3800 Venice

Thats good. If the 3000+ and the 3200+ didn't sell to well, AMD could just use the reject chips for them. But now they have to use chips that would have other-wise been 3500+ and 3800+.

um....................do you guys think we should sticky this thread?

Well, I did it backwords. I had a nice CBBHD 0441 whinny that I killed, and it was replacement was a CBBID. Even with water vs air cooling on the old one, it topped out at 300mhz less, which I just coudlnt settle for, so I sold it on the cheap yesturday to get a venice the day they hit stores. If byt the end of the week there not out, il try to track down a whinny with a nice stepping.

I should have....but I needed to sell that Winchester to pay for the Venice. I was afraid if I didnt sell it till the Venice was out, but the time it sold the Venice would be sold out, and when they came back in the price would skyrocket and then id be really screwed when I couldnt afford any processor. So I just gotta cross my fingers and hope the 3000+ venice pops up somewhere monday or tuesday.

I hope the rumors of Venice having longer pipelines and consequently worse IPC is false, else the winny would be just as good if not better

That's just that, rumors. Have you checked Opps preview at the front page of XS? It clearly doesn't confirm your suspicions:
