Win x64 with X800XL, no go....

I installed Win x64 with no issues. It actually installed very, very fast and didn't need me to install third party SATA drivers at all. I was able to get all the drivers for the x64 setup working but not the new ATI 5.4s for x64.

Everything was faster on the x64 setup so I would prefer it, but after the first reboot following the ATI 5.4 install I get a black screen. I have to completely reinstall the OS to get back to normal operation but lose it as soon as I install the ATI drivers.

Please help. Let me know if you have a working x64 setup with ATI!

    Thanks

Try contacting Microsoft and ATI. Maybe an older driver?

I havnt had that problem... use x850XT...

    :\
Though I have one lame issue... It throttles alot in x64 windows... - Had winxp pro before...
The thing is... Sometimes when shutting down browsers etc. it happens 3-4 secs after I pressed close

In benching I gained no extra marks... - While the programs still run 32bit.. :\ (01SE / 03 tested so far)...

However in sis sandre my arith incresed by more than 1000 mips !

    Best regards

FINALLY!! I was beginning to think I was crazy because noone responded to this thread.

I have contacted ATi with what I think is a well written ticket but have not heard back.

I was very impressed with x64 and would love to use it if I can.

Yeah, it's really zippy and runs my beta 64-bit FarCry with absolutely stunning performance.
We're talking 75FPS+ AVG on 1280x1024 maximum quality 2xFSAA/16xAF with my X850XT-PE, when the best I ever got in Win x32 was 40-45.

I'm running a PowerColor X800XL with ATI x64 cat 5.4s and had no issues.

Wish I could tell you more but no problems at all. Very smooth OS

I wonder if it is dependant at all on the x64 version you are using?

Yes, I believe that is the difference. It should not occur with the RTM version. Opteron YGPM.

It's kickass. The only problem I've had is with SC:CT but that's because of a StarForce 64-bit protection incompatability.

I believe I'm going to take another run at it tonight after work. Maybe try installing the drivers in a different order. I will log the install this time to see if maybe I'm jacking sumpin' up somewhere.

I don't understand your post at all. Are you saying you switched from AMD to Intel (who copied AMDs 64) to fix a problem that you are now blaming on nVidia, even though we are talking about ATI???

Please clear that up for me.
